Hey Project any chance Gallager could get a look, kid can fly and can bunt?

Rett Gallagher (2019, Celina, Texas). Gallagher made this scout do a double take at his stop watch when he burned down the line during an at-bat for a jail break bunt single that the infield had no chance of making the play. The switch hitter was batting from the lefthanded side and ran a 3.78-second home to first time. He later followed that up by hitting a ball up the middle and running a true home to first time of 4.08 seconds to beat out an infield single. Each time on base Gallagher stole second base as well giving a true glimpse of his elite in game speed. He is not overly physical as he stands at a listed 5-foot-10, 190-pounds and likely smaller than that. The versatile uncommitted 2019 graduate displayed the ability to catch in the game as well as play in the outfield showing how much of an athletic utility player he can be.

This is a follow up from July, but this kid is now committed to Mizzou.

Giovanni DiGiacomo will be playing for the Bourne Braves in the Cape Cod league this summer.

That makes 5 guys with known summer destinations so far.

Saw the Wilhite kid pitch in the playoffs last year. Throws moderately hard and keeps the ball down. Not sure he is LSU material as a Pitcher? But, CPM knows more than I do!

Grabbed another 2020 recruit tonight, this one from in state. RHP Marcus Mott from Sam Houston committed to the Tigers.

He’s gonna be a good one. Was up to 92 in the state semifinals against Sulphur last year as a sophomore and followed that with a great summer.

Also one of the most intense competitors Ive ever seen, LSU fans will love the passion he competes with. Hes gonna be a true stopper out of the bullpen.

Did any of the players who were on the fall roster transfer out or quit? Thanks in advance.

As far as I know, no. Bryce Jordan retired from baseball during fall practice. That dropped the roster down to 35/35. So no additional attrition is needed. I guess it's still possible though. Last year the last person to quit the team did so the day before the first game.

Has anyone seen anything on Jacob Scherer from St Pauls? He's not listed on PG or PBR as a commit any longer. But I can't find anything.

Heard LSU withdrew the offer

It looks like Drew Bianco will be playing for the new Texas Collegiate League team in Baton Rouge this summer, the Rougarou. That's 6 assignments for LSU players and commits so far.

Today is opening day for JUCO baseball. LSU doesn't have any JUCO commits (at least that I've been able to find) right now, which is sort of uncommon for LSU and for most schools. But there are still a ton of good players and teams out there to follow.

Mitchell Sanford will be joining Hayden Travinski on the Saugerties Stallions this summer in the Perfect Game League. Sanford is an OF from Berwick and also a FB player, which just plays into the type of player we like to recruit. Multi sport athletes and specifically HS QBs.

Do you know why Jake Hymel went to San Jac instead of LSU??, I was looking forward to another Hymel launching them in Omaha.

His velo dropped over the last couple years (according to perfect game events). My speculation, because I really have no idea, is that the velo drop caused the coaches to be scared of an injury. I've seen in the last few year that they've just separated from TJ guys. For instance, Johnny Ray sat last year recovering from TJ at Illinois State. He's now at Logan College (a JUCO that pumps out pitchers) throwing 95 and committed to TCU as the 6th rank JUCO player in the country.

Hymel is now committed to San Jac, the premier JUCO if you're looking to be drafted or go D1 (IMO).
