No, he didn’t play at all. His injury was one that wouldn’t allow him to swing a bat or throw. Good thing is it’s not a permanent injury that will linger. He should come back 100%.

He would slide over perfectly at 2B next year.

The good thing is we shouldn’t need any of the high school guys to produce immediately. If they hit their way into the lineup, great, but they’ll have time to develop without the pressure.

We'll need JUCO and transfer portal for that outside of those that return from this year's staff. We can't rely on the class for that.

Reading a little about Dutton this morning and apparently he hasn’t pitched in the last two rounds of the playoffs due to soreness.
ETA: Their semifinal series begins tomorrow, it will be worth checking in to see if he plays.

That sucks. He's a guy that could come in and get innings early based on his strike throwing ability. Hope everything is good health wise.

This guy has probably been talked about so apologies, but what's the thought on Jobert? His numbers at Nicholls and Delgado really jump off the page.

Delgado doesn't play the toughest schedule. He didn't do a ton against LSUE, the best team on their schedule. He's DH/1B. Could hit for power and he's going to have to in order to get into the line up.
I could see him being a platoon DH or maybe getting some time at 1st if Morgan plays the OF some (though I don't know why that would happen).
If Jensen makes it to campus, I don't see a ton of opportunities for Jobert. Jensen would obviously catch, but when he's not, his bat would still need to be in the line up somewhere.

So where would Moller fit in?

You'd have to ask the team that drafts him.
Are you assuming there is a scenario where both Jensen and Moller get to campus?

I guess....haha. Thought I read in one of these threads where its was looking good for him, Simon, and Leto to all get here....
But I know youre way more up to speed on this stuff than I am so maybe Im mistaken and didnt see that... thats why I was confused.

Depending on pitchers lost in draft, LSU will have to be major players in transfer portal for pitching
The recruiting that will be going on in collegiate summer leagues will be intense

Two more summer league assignments I just found:
Josh Pearson and Brennan Holt will play for the Sanford River Rats in the Florida Collegiate Summer League. We sent Crews and Brayden Jobert to that team last year. It was the first time I can remember LSU sending someone there. The level of play is decent. I imagine we will continue to send players there as a thank you for making spots for us during the COVID season.
ETA: I've found summer assignments (or reasons they're not assigned) for 25 of the 53 players with eligibility remaining. Obviously not all of those players will play this summer as some will be drafted and some will not use their extra COVID year. All in all, the amount of guys we're sending out seems to be more than in the past, but there are still some I expect to be playing somewhere this summer that I haven't found.

Some names of interest from Keith Law’s top 100
quote:
27. Jaden Hill, RHP, LSU Hill went into the year as one of the top three college arms in the class but went down early in the year with Tommy John surgery. Prior to that he’d shown three above-average to plus pitches, touching 98, with plus control, and he seemed to have the size for durability, but had a history of minor injuries.
quote:
44. Ben Kudrna, RHP, Blue Valley Southwest HS, Overland Park, KS Kudrna is a projection right-hander with a good delivery and enough present stuff, including the makings of a good slider and potentially plus change-up, along with feel to pitch that he looks like he’ll be someone’s second pick, in the comp or early second rounds, as teams start to target high school pitching after the end of the first.
quote:
86. Carter Jensen, C, Park Hill HS, Kansas City, Mo. Jensen is a bat-first catcher with the chance for plus hit/plus power, which would make him a first-rounder if he were clearly going to stay behind the plate. He has arm strength but his technique and setup behind the plate both need work, and he’ll be a project for someone’s catching instructor once he signs.

Former LSU commit Thomas Wilhite, who spent the last two years at Northwest Florida State, has committed to Tennessee Tech.

Dutton’s team won their semifinal series. He returned to the lineup but still didn’t pitch.

Today at noon central, FanGraphs will be live streaming their draft board update. I will watch as much of it as I can. It will be on the fangraph homepage and on their twitch stream. I don't know if twitch does replays or not.

They do. I’ve watched some of Longenhagen’s prospect coverage on Twitch before.

Were you able to catch it?
