That means there is only 1 RHP coming in from the 2019 class - Abendroth. Big drop from what I think was 8 originally:
Espino
Phillips
Lewis
Wilhite
Abendroth
Scherer
Hymel
Pharris
Espino
Phillips

Abendroth
Scherer
Hymel
Pharris

Abendroth - Coming
Espino - Draft
Lewis - Draft
Wilhite - JUCO probably for draft reasons
Phillips - JUCO probably for draft reasons
Hymel - JUCO, had TJ I believe
Scherer - JUCO, velo dropped not sure if injury related
Pharris - Had TJ, no public info on where he may be going.
Just weird all around, but last year's haul helps with absorbing that blow this year. Plus the guys that may be coming back from injury, like Labas and McMurray.
I know we're looking at one JC lefty for next year. I hope we take a look at RHP Jake Hammond from LSUE. I think he'd be a good bullpen piece.
On a separate note, San Jacinto will have Ray Torres and Jake Hymel who were originally committed to LSU, and Will Ripoll who is transferring from LSU. They will also have a number of transfers and former commits from other SEC schools as well. It's one of the reasons they're always a powerhouse.

I heard Pharris going to McNeese.

Apparently we aren’t allowed to discuss our opinions on the baseball recruiting class in the baseball recruiting thread so I’ll refrain from commenting further out of deference to the board experts.
If you spot a more appropriate thread where we can discuss the baseball recruiting class, let me know and I’ll address your question.

Smith is now committed to Florida State.

Any idea what that’s about? Was he not a take or are they just beating us on recruiting him right now?

If their trajectories continue, you won't see
Romo
Crews
Money
Fowler
or
Pearson (there's a reason he reclassified)
anywhere near LSU.
Now, a lot can happen between now and the draft but these are highly doubtful to show up

Project, according to the new rosters, Brandon Kaminer is not on the team. Is he a 2021 guy that I mistook for being a 2020 guy or did something happen?
Posted on 7/30/19 at 12:18 pm to epicpoe
He was a juco guy that committed during the season. Not sure what happened.

CPM said today that they are looking at adding one more player to the current class.
That would put us one over the roster limit.
Any idea who we would be looking at adding and who may be the first in line to leave?
I was kind of surprised I thought this class was done.

I don't know. Kaminer still shows himself as a commit on Twitter. Maybe theyre waiting on something with his juco classes. I'm at a work conference for the next couple days so I won't be able to dig.
Eta: I knew they would end up doing this press conference while I was otherwise occupied. Ha.

James Moran is saying on twitter that if the 36th player does come he will likely be a LHP.
I can’t tell if that’s a quote from Mainieri or if that’s just Moran’s opinion though.

That was a quote. The way Mainieri talked leads me to believe they're just waiting on something with Kaminer.

I think Kaminer will be added, PM can't discuss name since he hasn't signed yet.
Probably waiting on JUCO classes to end before it's finalized.
They will be at 36 which is manageable. Usually that works itself out. Someone could get injured as well.
Sounds like most of the injured pitchers will be ready for fall.
I don't think Storz has thrown yet. If he can't get healthy at what point does he hang it up.

Lsu picked up a lhp from NY yesterday in the 2022 class. I'll add him to the list tomorrow. Michael Kennedy is his name.

Hoping coach Smith can work some magic with Hal this year, really pulling for the kid as he always had the glove just struggled at the plate.

I hope we are still on the lookout for JUCO lefties that can help immediately. I would like to see us go after Cameron Tullar from Wabash Valley.
Back in May I brought this guy up as a player I hoped we were recruiting. He committed to Mississippi State today. I think for the next class, not the one about to step on campus.

Brandon Kaminer recently (in the past day or so) changed his Twitter bio from "LSU baseball commit" to just "LSU baseball."
We may see an official announcement soon of him being added to the roster.
ETA: He has been officially added to the roster. The wait was on him graduating from JUCO.
