And that makes sense, but again, a release isn’t required for that. We didn’t really expect him here until a couple days ago so it isn’t a huge deal, but I’m still curious how and why the release came about.

I’ve defended Mainieri’s record here along with several decisions that weren’t/aren’t popular with most of the fan base, but there are some things I disagree with. I think he’s a little too outspoken, and almost whiney quite frankly, about the whole draft process....too much of an us against them attitude. I just hope that didn’t come into play here.

It has been around 47 years since Miracle Mike turned down 1st Round money, to come to campus, even Skip never got a 1st Rounder to change his mind.

Less so now than he used to be, but I agree with that.

I honestly think the kid wasn't upfront about either what it would take to sign him or what his intentions were, so he just said frick it and made it public that he wasn't coming to not have to deal with questions about for the next month.

Optimism from both Turang wanting to be the number 1 pick for so long. Optimism from the LSU side that the Brewers do not have a lot of pool money and will have to nail every deal to be able to come close to matching his asking price.

He’s going to have to say no to a lot of money to end up at LSU, that’s not the optimistic part of this deal.

That's numbers top hitters don't even reach because teams learn and don't pitch to them so you'd think that would be the case

Anyone know his level of competition?

That's after spending like $50 in points to improve your ratings before you face that A ball pitching

Has anyone read anything about Andrew Lee yet? He wasn’t on any summer league list, not on any draft list and CPM didn’t talk about him in his presser. Is he still part of the class? If he really hit .220 this season I’d imagine he was told to pursue other options

He doesn’t need a release to go to juco. ETA: Not that I think the other scenario is plausible, that’s just tin foil hat stuff, but I’m just curious how that all played out.

I am curious about this as well. Would really piss me off if he later signs with the Florida Gators instead of the Milwaukee Brewers

Why is there so much optimism about Brice Turang arriving on campus??

In simple terms the brewers only have 6 mil and change to sign draft picks with. Turang right now is asking for 4 mil. Chances are good he is just playing the negotiating game and will come down in the final hour to make a deal. However that still puts the brewers in a tight spot and deals like this is how 1st rounders make it to campus.

You'll probably never have those college years again. Tough to put a price on that.

Am I thinking correctly that we only have one signee not yet accounted for? A couple articles have mentioned 10 are on campus and we know 6 are in Summer leagues. Turang is obviously one of the other two.
