FanGraphs prospect writer gave us about a 10% chance of getting Turang on campus in his chat today.
In the same chat he mentioned 2019 Rece Hinds as a potential 1-1 pick for next year's draft.

Considering he is undoubtedly a first round prospect. 10% is good for us. Especially since it’s probably safe for a writer to give a number like that for a guy who was never suppose to make it to college

Where would Turang have to fall to to realistically make it to campus?

I’ve seen a mock that said it might be tough to sign him if he falls to the 20’s but who knows

Connor Simon, 2021 commit and Freshman at St. Paul's just helped pitch St. Paul's to the Championship game. Came in relief against Jesuit and struck out 12 and just finished the game with Catholic by striking out 5 batters in 2 innings. Will be signed as a shortstop but is an all around great player.

The Royals have 4 of the top 40 picks and the highest bonus pool in the draft. If they're the most interested in him, it doesn't bode well for him getting to campus.

P (or anyone else), quick, yet loaded question for you:
Do you ever think college baseball will get to the point where kids from Japan will be recruited to play baseball and attend school in the states?
Was talking about this with a friend earlier and was wondering: is it done now? Could it be a possibility in the future? Why or why not?
Like I said, I know it’s probably a loaded question

Yes that’s unfortunate. Thought we would get him for sure earlier in the year. Looks like Hill will be the best prospect we land in the class

There are a few players that come over to the states from Japan to play. Troy had an infielder a while back. Hawaii had one this year. He was a transfer from a college in Japan.
But they have college baseball there.

Its not like I real keep real close watch on the trends of Japanese baseball so I dont know what they play like these days but the japanese brand of baseball of yesteryear would play real well in College Baseball.
Speedy arse hit machines with good gloves.
Or maybe I'm just thinking about ichiro. Im drunk dont listen to me.

Real shite though what I would like to see happen is college baseball getting into that South American talent pool. The lack of available scholarships wont let that happen though

How does Costello project moving forward?
Posted on 5/16/18 at 9:41 am to CP3forMVP
His PG profile linked in the first page has a good write up on his playing style. I haven’t seen him ranked very high on any draft sites tho. I’m assuminh he starts out as a reliever but depending on who we lose to the draft he could work his way into a weekend spot.

I'm still in the process of aggregating as many draft lists as I can to get an idea of where guys are projected.
The only list I've seen Costello on so far is the BA500. He's 280 range, which would be equivalent to a 9th round pick (even though it doesn't really work that way). He's not in the PG Draft rankings, they're in the process of unrolling their 500 player list.
The other lists I have range from 55 players (FanGraphs) to 125 players (2080 Baseball), and he's not on those either. Hopefully those lists expand soon so I can get a better read on what's going on with our players and recruits.
I'm also hoping that D1 Baseball puts out a comprehensive draft list with Prep Baseball Report. I don't have a PBR subscription so I can't see their draft rankings.

MLB.com is going to come out with a list of 200 soon too.

I've got their top 100 logged. I think they only go as high as 200 though, but I do hope it comes out soon.
The last pick of the round this year is pick 314. Any guys that are listed higher than that can be considered "top ten round talent" before the draft. It doesn't work out that way because college seniors will get drafted because they'll below slot.
Just a note about our competition: It looks like Vandy commit Ryan Weathers is negotiating a below slot deal. So it looks like one of their highly rated signees is guaranteed off the board for them.

Does D1 Baseball normally put out a comprehensive list?
