Yes, which is not far from Spain, where LSU basketball will be on a tour in August. That is not a coincidence.
Definitely being used as a selling point.

Man he'd have to reclassify and jump on board pretty quick here to make the August trip
Think they leave in like 3.5 weeks

I'm always glad to see posts from Bubba Hotep and VolTiger (sp?) in the basketball threads.
Man, this would be an exciting team if they land Dante. Watford and Dante would be better (at least in some ways) than Reid and Bigby-Williams.

Watford is a clear upgrade over Naz.

To me they just have different games.
Watford is definitely a better ball handler and is more agile.
Reid is a better shooter from the FT line and 3 pt land for sure. Watford needs to work on his shooting.
Rebounding likely a wash.

To be fair Naz just got a Guaranteed contract in the NBA, at least for 1 year, and watford is supposed to be a 2 and done. So I don’t know if I would say that yet.

Thrilled for Naz. I want EVERY LSU player possible in the nba for recruiting purposes. I just thought he was underwhelming for such a top flight recruit (especially when he tried to dribble in the paint). Maybe the nba game is more suited for him. Watford looks better out of hs to me though. I am in NO WAY a talent scout, but I go to an eybl weekend every yr and see the top guys play. Out of all the guys we have now, Javonte looked unstoppable when I saw him 2 yrs ago.

Bubba, assuming he is able to reclassify, what is your read/info. on this situation? Do you have a prediction on where he lands?

Obviously these things are fluid, but LSU feels confident and most observers believe LSU is in the driver’s seat, if he reclassifies.
If he doesn’t, a lot of things can change in a year.
I also believe and have heard that Sebit Reath is on-hold for LSU. He may be a sign and redshirt, even if Dante comes to LSU.

That is great news on both fronts.
I have heard positives on Reath as well.
In my view what you just described would be a great option in our search for 2 bigs.

Keep the info comin, Bubba!

Thanks for the update.
This is great to hear. I know that this was the consensus at one point if he reclassified; but didn't know if Oregon or UK had picked up ground and passed us or not.
Why would Wade have him on hold? Isn't there enough scholarship room for both of them anyway?
Thanks again for the info.

Sebit is a project. There are hopes a better player may shake loose.
Apparently Sebit is content to wait.

Think that says a lot about what the Reath family thinks about Wade's staff's ability to develop him.
Posted on 7/18/19 at 9:44 pm to Bubba Hotep
I've long speculated Reath was waiting us out since hes one of the only top JuCO players still unsigned. I hope we take him and Dante. Both can play immediately, hard to see us getting a better player this late. He can contribute some, skilled 4/5 man.

If LSU gets both Dante & Reath I think Wade will redshirt Reath and develop him more in practice. Reath also needs to put on more muscle mass.
Posted on 7/19/19 at 8:50 am to thunderbird1100
I’ve seen Reath live for an entire game. He’s very raw and tries to play on the wing. I don’t think he’s an SEC player right now, but he has potential and would be a candidate to redshirt, put on weight and work on playing more inside.
He’s like a homeless man’s Naz Reid.
