I’m going to assume you haven’t followed recruiting before. This is normal when your head coach arrived on campus 6 days ago. We lost a few to transferring, flipped a couple from Ole Miss, and kept the highest ranked commits from the previous staff. All in all, pretty solid haul.

In these days of college football, the portal is more important than HS recruiting because portal players USUALLY start immediately, while HS recruits USUALLY hit the portal if they don't start immediaely.
I think the best you can do is look for a balance of portal players to HS recruits.

After getting fired, the interim (without the new guy named) is not going to get a top guy to commit or flip; and the lower guys will want to know who the coach is to see if they can fit into his style to be developed.
