I'm curious to know, what instate recruits are a must get in this year's recruiting class.

Singleton at S/ LB
Green at TE
Mack at Corner
Ju’Juan at WR
Cobbins at LB
De’Myrion Johnson at DT
Foster at Corner
Lee on the OLine

Those are the must haves to me, but I’m sure more will emerge. We are in a good spot for all of them.

I think Melvin Hills could also be a take at DT
and Kavion Broussard as an OLineman.

Sandy Lewis at LB is also one to keep an eye on.

The first 7 on your list were right down the line in perfect order to 247. At least credit them if you're going to use their rankings.

Actually, 247 has them in this order: Green, Singleton, Cobbins, Foster, Ju’Juan, Mack, Lee
247 ‘24 LA rankings

Should the coaches be prioritizing anyone from LA above those 7? If so you should let CBK know

There is no such thing as a “must get”. Are there kids that we absolutely want? Yes. Kids that we would like? Yes. Kids that would improve the talent profile of the team? Yes.

But there is no single recruit that we must have. Sorry for the pontification.

Actually, you listed 247's ranking. Them alone. I was referring to the 247 composite which is exactly as you had copied/ranked/listed them.

As for me telling the coaches which players to prioritize, I didn't offer up ranking of my "own" like you. I thought I should let you know.

So let’s hear your completely authentic top 7 and why they’re better than the previous one. Why would anyone use any recruiting site to determine the best players in the state… crazy.

It sounds like you’re also saying we should do a formal MLA citation every time we use info from any recruiting site… on the Recruiting Board. Great idea.

Does LA have a strong class for 2024?

That's really the question, I know Louisiana always has 4-5 diamond in the rough type of players but who the elite players in this cycle.

At this time, there are only 6-7 guys from the state that are consistently ranked in the top 300 across the recruiting sites. It’s still early and there’s a lot of camping, scouting, and development to be done. If the class rankings finish like this, the LA ‘24 would be one the weakest in the past decade.

Who knows how many guys we aren’t hearing about will climb in the rankings between now and then

How do you know 247 didn’t get those names from this board?

I know the word is that we offered Ju'juan Johnson as a DB but after the state championship game, the kid is special with the ball in his hands. Would love to see us take him in as an athlete and see if he can make it as a slot receiver before him totally committing to playing defense.
