PG: JaVonte Smart; Jalen Cook; James Bishop
SG: Cam Thomas; Charles Manning; Parker Edwards
SF: Darius Days; Aundre Hyatt
PF: Josh Leblanc; Bradley Ezwiro
C; Shareef Oneal; Courtese Cooper

Assuming only Emmitt and Trendon leave early (may be a big assumption). Would be nice to have at least one of them back for another year. But this lineup looks pretty solid already. Have to hope that Ezewiro is up to speed to add frontcourt depth by the time the season starts though. But Wade has shown this year that he can a lot without much deoth anyway.

I don’t think Shareef is a center.

I’m not sure Shareef would be eligible next season.

I think Smart goes to NBA not that he’s ready... just a hunch

Edwards is a walk on
Ezewiro is a center
O'Neal is nothing like center
Days is a PF
Cooper prob wont be here, upgrade with someone there
Decent chance Watford returns

We are still looking to get Anselem and Wilkinson and maybe a true point man

Yes I agree totally, Glad he’s a Tiger but he thinks he’s better than he is. Honest ? No disrespect but do you notice every time he makes a basket he gets in the defenders face and the ref steps in between them half the time. I just notice this year, but almost every time he scores

What's more likely is a lineup of...

Smart
Thomas
Manning
Days
Watford (his folks say he won't go unless he's a sure 1st round pick, and to be that he's going to have to show he can shoot from outside which he hasn't done)

And then a bench of...

Cook
Hyatt
Wilkinson
LeBlanc
Anselem

With Bishop and Ezewiro as the end of the bench and O'Neal redshirting. Cooper would then get processed unless Watford went out.

Shocked no ones mentioned we’ll likely add the best player in the country, Johnathan Kuminga, if he reclassifies.

I don't think Kuminga is a sure fire thing at all. Recruitment all over the place. Would be INSANE if we landed him.

But you're core rotations will likely be from

Smart
Thomas
Manning
Days
Watford (if he stays)
Bishop
Leblanc (when eligible)
Hyatt
Wilkinson
Anselem

Then you have

Ezewiro (could play but likely sits)
O'Neal (transfer sit)
Toles (can really play, we will see if it works)
Cooper (goes somewhere else)
Edwards (walk-on)
Starks (walk-on)

Charles Manning would start at SF next season (at least based on who is currently signed/already on the team)

You didnt mention Jalen Cook at all. He doesnt get a lot of limelight nationally but I think he is badly underrated. Reminds me a lot of how Jared Butler was two years ago. JaVonte got all the national attention meanwhile Butler was tearing the state up and even beat Scotlandville twice while JaVonte was there. I think Cook will play even if Smart stays but I think if he leaves Cook beats Bishop to start.

I think Coach Wade has showed this season that he would rather start 3 bigs than 3 guards. He tried that with Tremont JaVonte and Skylar early last season and changed it up later. Plus I honestly think Leblanc will be too good to keep on the bench. I think Manning will have to fight Thomas for the SG spot if he wants to start because I think Leblanc and Days will start together.

I don’t see Williams leaving unless he needs a paycheck. He’d have to spend time in the d league or oversees. He’s too small he needs to develop more guard like skills

PG-Smart
SG-Thomas
SF-Hyatt(gonna be a player)
PF-Days
C-Leblanc

Ezwiro has a long way to go to be ready at P5 level. Think shorter ERIII.

If we get the Anselem to re-classify/sign, I would not be surprised if he's starting at C before year is over.

If we get one more of our underclassmen to stay, that will change everything. If we have a couple of young guys contribute, this will be a very good team!

O'Neal already redshirted. I think he would likely be eligible immediately, considering his health problems and he will have already sat out basically 2 years.

The NCAA is never consistent in ho they grant waivers for players who would ordinarily have to sit out a season. Of course being the son of a high profile legend might be a positive as they would not want this to become a national story where their consistency becomes an issue.

Just curious but why are several people here thinking Cooper is leaving. With another year i think he could be a contributor and we need the size.

Cooper is not an SEC caliber player. IMO, Wade will bring in another project type player in Coopers place. Every year Wade rolls the dice on a player.

Also, this topic has been talked about in detail in the 2020 basketball recruiting thread.
