There are a lot of high quality CBs around Houston area that we need to get Corey on. 2 going to Ohio State, hell if they lose to Michigan again, that whole staff is gone. Do they really know how cold it gets up there? It’s no place for a Southern boy.

We are also in the running for two excellent D linemen in Hattiesburg right now. That’s an hour and change from BR. Parents can meet kids for lunch and be home for 6 o’clock news. We need to get at least one of them, but would like both. Hell let them come over together and bring a bunch of other players. South Mississippi used to be strong LSU area, as was Mobile area. We need to get that back

Andrew Maddox DL. 6’3 265.

4*, 84th player in the country, #6 DL, #3 player in Mississippi.

Kevin Oatis DL. 6’2 285.

4*, 164th player in the country, #19 DL, #6 player in Mississippi.

Maddox would be a jewel in the class. Kevin Oatis is Jaheim Oatis’s little brother who flirted with LSU out of HS before signing with Alabama. Oatis seems to be all LSU right now, while Maddox may be a little bit harder of a pull. It would be lovely to poach both of these guys from Lane Kiffin.

I trust that Raymond will have us winning top CB battles again. CB’s to keep an eye out for are

5* DJ Picket #7 player in the country.
5* Dorian Brew #21 player in the country.
4* Micha Strickland #122 player in the country.

I’m not worried about Dline with Bo Davis and People’s recruiting. Everyone knows Bo is the best and People’s is dang good in his own right. It would be like worrying if the Sun was going to rise tomorrow.

Kelvin Oatis Jr. is not Jaheim’s little brother. Me and his dad Kevin Sr grew up together after my family moved from New Orleans, we played football together at Prentiss High. Dad was a helluva player just didn’t have the size at NG he was about 5”10 240 but strong as an ox with violent hands.. If he had been 3/4 inches taller and about 40lbs bigger he’d probably have played division I. I think he ended up at PRCC can’t remember I ended up at Tulsa on a baseball scholarship. Great family hadn’t seen Sr in yrs though. Hope Jrs a tiger ??

Oatis does like lsu. Maddox will NOT play for Lsu. His own words. Hes probably following his brother. If it were completely up to him he would be at Ga.

What’s crazy is when I went to oak grove 7 years ago, I think we might’ve had a combined 3-4 players go D1 (none in the SEC). Now they got major D1 talent, love to see it Jordan Duncan and Plumlee were the first major D1 guys from there I remember

Staff has sent out alot of offers for DT in 2025 class since last week and CBs also. Best place to see all this is X(twitter) now we just wait to see who visits.

Example: Bo Davis visiting DL in Denton this morning.

Yep… not worried about DL even a little. We have coaches who know exactly how to do this and I can assure you, they know way more names, talent ability, needs, chances to get them than anyone on here or some recruiting site. I trust these guys, like I trust the HC to put it altogether. Not worried at all.

The names that have come up recently tell me these guys are all over it.

Not worried also personally. The staff has hit the ground running making offers and visiting the players out of state. Most of the DT and DE offers are out of state the commits will come down the road for them.

Dorian Brew’s top 2 choices are Texas and Ohio State. Michigan was in the mix, until JH decided to go back to the NFL. Raymond has been recruiting him hard, since he got back on staff, but not sure it will be enough.

I assume one is Kevin Oatis. Who's the other one?

Never mind Tigerlifer answered my question. Thanks.

Thanks for updating this. I hate to hear that about Maddox. if the other kid is all LSU, make them come together. Any anti LSU bias may disappear when he meets other recruits

What’s Maddox’s problem? Just not very bright or what ? One of those kids who wants to go play at a Mississippi school and win nothing ?

No he wants to play for Kirby. But he has a good relationship with Pete Golding, his father is good friends with him from his playing days with Pete at Delta State. Thats why i believe he will follow AJ. They have a strong family bond and the Dad wants them to play together. He trusts Pete with his kids.
