I will say this, if Orgeron can go toe-to-toe with Bama and Georgia for these recruits and get them, specifically Sopsher and Emery, this could set a precedence for LSU football that will change the perception about LSU football to recruits in the future. But, LSU must do what they did to Georgia and beat Saban's Bama.

Change perception? We’ve been losing instate guys to Bama for years. We’re losing guys to a dynasty not Ole piss, I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again.....

You win games (ships) recruits will stay and come.

One win doesn't turn the Tide (no pun intended). It takes a long body of work and commitment to winning that we haven't shown in quite a while. It can however put you on the right path.

This years LSU team looks closer to the 2017 UGA team.

Not lying, I don’t live there anymore, but I’m from Destrehan. I know a lot of people there, coaches, teachers, families. I don’t know if it’s enough, but the mood is changing in our favor. He may come unofficially to Bama game.

Now this is something. It may really happen...wow. He would be dynamic in LSU's offense next season. Our O-line will be heavily laden with returning veterans.

November 3rd could be the most important game in college football for the next 5 years if LSU takes down the Tide.

That's what I'm talking about. LSU hasn't beaten Saban in years. LSU beats them and that will change the perception that to win NC's these recruits must go to Bama.

I agree 100 percent. But at least the perception that's been trending lately that LSU can't beat bama and can't compete for NC's will begin to change. Even if slightly changed, any change in LSU's favor is better than what has been established lately. VOL, IDK how old you are, but when I played in HS in the late 70's and early 80's, there was this same perception that, not just recruits, but fans, coaches, media, everybody, that LSU couldn't beat the Bear and couldn't compete for NC's with the best teams in the country. It really wasn't until Saban got to LSU and began winning that this perception was changed. Recruits began realizing if LSU could get the best from La. every year they could compete for NC's. The fact this perception has once again invaded the hearts of recruits really is frustrating. But, when this staff develops a good game plan, and LSU gets the best players from La., they can beat Bama and they can compete for NC's. They just need these kids from the Boot and play like champions. I mean, yea, LSU will lose some, but if they can go out of state and replace the talent they lose in state, then LSU can and will be back on top again. I really hope LSU does get Sopsher and Emery. Winning these recruiting battles with the likes of Ga and Bama will make a statement. And beating those teams on the field will start to get the name LSU back into conversation with the elite programs. But, like you mentioned, it will take time. One season, one game, won't do it. But it will be a start.

Yep, I agree. IMHO, I think Saban is afraid of one program establishing itself or beginning to establish itself with the likes of the elite, and that's LSU. When he looks into his rearview mirror it's that Bengal Tiger leading the rest of college football, stalking, catching up, ready to strike. He knows if LSU starts out-recruiting him for the elite players in the state of La, they will catch up and over-take his program. And it starts Nov 3rd, like you mentioned. :geauxtigers:

If no pun was intended, why capitalize Tide?

Other than that, I strongly agree with you

This is true. We win the next 2 games and the way recruits view LSU will change immeasurably.

Even though our offense isn't exactly a juggernaut the change in scheme is chipping away at the view of LSU as simply a power I team without a dynamic passing game.

My expectations were not that high for the 2018 season and I'm still taking a measured approach, but the potential for a great season are certainly growing. Unfortunately, Bama has found a dynamic QB that will make that Nov. game that much more of a daunting task.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Georgia just makes zero sense.

Having said that, I don't believe the OP. I don't think Emery has figured it out yet.

But, at some point, another big school, besides LSU, is going to try to get Emery. With the time window closing, he'll be forced to face the reality that Georgia would be a very bad decision for him.

If nothing else, the win plants the seed.

The second thing that happens is if he is tied into the GA social media and press he will hear the meltdown over mismanagement of the RBs. He will hear that they have ridiculous talent that is not being utilized. He will hear about all the talent waiting to play next year. He will hear that their OC does not know how to gameplan.

Say what you want about SE, he put together an exponentially better plan with less offensive talent. That should speak volumes.
