sorry, thought you would know what I was referring to.

Many on pay sites say they have more info than many have, but that nobody will go public with it for fear of the legal issues that may come with it. Not just pay site guys, national news media.

what are the coaches supposed to think?

They shouldn't have to think - they should know. We have a maximum of 25 recruits in a typical year. In the case of TD, having committed early on he was in the barn with a far smaller (and therefore more manageable) number of commits for a long time. They should know what time of day these guys take a dump, when they burp, whether they put on shoe, sock, shoe, sock, or sock, sock, shoe, shoe. Not a lot of moving parts and if they are ours they are ours to keep. If they are lost, its our bad. These things are going to happen. Still, every time it does - its on us. Just part of the job.

So you guys don't think Reuben Randle's decision to leave had anything to do with Decarlos Holmes attitude towards LSU?

It's one thing to keep quiet or insinuate that you are thinking things through a little harder. It's a whole different thing to tell LSU on the phone you are committed and looking forward to coming to BR, your mother saying the same thing, doing a local interview the night before saying it on local TV, and then never calling LSU to let them know and having them find out on NSD. It's disrespectful and immature. If he would've called the LSU coaches that morning or the night before and told them he had a change of heart, this situation would be more forgiveable, but to have a realtionship for over a year with a group and then to show no respect like he did will eventually come back to haunt him. It always does. There is a business way in which people handle themselves and Davis, his mother, his head coach, and Texas all botched it in this situation.

I don't care about his decision to goto Texas, I care about how he disrespected our coahcing staff and how he straight-faced lied.

RR2 knew he was going pro before the UGA game. Everyone expected him to declare this year. THe only reason some thought he might not was becasue of the QB play late in the year and the potential with Mett coming in next year.

Had LSU won the NC and the passing game been fine, he was going to the NFL, so why is everyone surprised he chose to go eventhough we lost.

He's 6'4, 4.4 speed, prototype build for WR in the NFL, great hands, good deep threat and coming across the middle, good blocker, good route-runner. After his pro days he will probably projected as low first-mid 2nd rounder. Going to the NFL was the right decision for him, reguardless of whether we won the NC or not.

Thoughts?

I'd also like thoughts on what the LSU staff could have done different to land Torshiro.

Ive posted this a number of times, RRs family was not happy after the UGA game and I fully expected him gone after that performance REGARDLESS of what happened in the NC. I dont believe there were any other factors other than the fact that passing game went from decent early in the season to non existent later in the year.

1. Planted a spy within his household.
2. Use the Cam Newton tactics $$$
3. Hire someone with ESP.
4. Ankle bracelet.
5. Brainwash.

Start up the Prominentwon network

Show cases predominatly LSU, but also airs Mcneese State. However, McNeese replays come on the same time as two and half men so nobody really watches.

Shows recruits latest love interest

To be fair to everyone involved about RR.

He came out of HS as the top NFL WR prospect.

He was eligible for big time money in the NFL.
He, like most college players dream of playing in the NFL combined with millions of $$$ made that choice very very easy.

But what does it say about the quality of that relationship? I know our coaches get glowing reviews from most recruits, but if we are being constructively critical of what happened here I would suggest that the relationship was not fully developed - else I would expect a tad bit more respect shown to the LSU recruiting team when the change occurred.

And I totally agree with this:

I don't care about his decision to goto Texas

What could they have done differently? Intel on the ground which might give them an additional barometer to sense something going awry. Coaches, other commits, local resources (parents, girlfriends?). You know what you know what you know. You don't know what you don't know - and that's what will hurt you.

bullshite, bullshite, bullshite, the whole thing

Davis is a piece of shite, his coach is a piece of shite, and the Texas staff also. And frick the LHN and everyone else who said that wouldn't be a great recruiting tool, it was clear as fricking day when it was created and it still is.

Go ask denzell devall how much pressure and hate he received upon committing to Alabama, idiot.

I agree everyone expected him to leave but I think it was because he had no faith in the offensive gameplan long before the georgia game.

I would think him being successful against one of the best secondaries in the nation would have propelled him into the first round in most scout's eyes.

Most of this is just speculation on your part because most scout's are saying low 2nd at best.

a Houston radio host and local draft guru now has Randle projected at #26 to Houston, the 4th WR off the board behind Blackmon, Floyd and Wright.

2. Should the Tx//ESPN relationship be reviewed by NCAA - Plays an obvious role in recruiting.

obviously yes

it is an extra benefit and an incentive for kids to come to Texas

but the NCAA tend to act like whores and are reluctant to enforce a ruling that costs a member school money

I don't like the whole thing anymore than anyone else. but the comment about pressure to switch back to LSU falls flat. So, there's more pressure switching to Texas with a week or two before NSD and allowing homestate LSU to maybe attract another player for that position OR incurring the wrath of Tiger fans for doing something to purposely damage LSU????

C'mon. Texas in and of itself, OK, PT, OK, Longhorn network, OK, but don't feed me the pressure stuff. This was Texas' way of using a kid to help hurt LSU as much as possible, especially since it seems Texas is our fallback if we lose LA recruits.......

Randle's dad call's the shots. he demanded certain things for his son to come here.

Randle was leaving after three years no matter the touches or lack there of.

programs that recruit well, like Texas, have no guarantees on playing time. He still should have been up front with the coaches especially when they were expecting ur sig on feb 1.
