FWIW if I remember correctly from the little bit of recruiting I went through, if you drop below a certain GPA and fail to meet a grow other requirements, you will have to pay back all scholarship money you received
Just a little bit of info that might keep some kids from taking their scholarships

He is a real playmaker. Not sure if the staff consults with the Coaches at these kids high schools, but it seems it would help to do more of those things that made the QB's successful in high school.

Fair enough - but I will say this, I would take a guy like this who can be taught to use his big brain to make decisions quickly - even if he can't always make the throw, getting the ball out, accurately is over half the battle. And this kid isn't without tools - I like the quick release - I like the way he appears to make smart decisions with the ball - I didn't see a bunch of scrambles on the highlight film, but he appears to run decisively, the way you would want on reads and draws to extend drives. Certainly that ability translates to scrambling.

Elite SEC defenses eat guys like this alive.
Manziel drug his nuts all over elite SEC defenses, like Alabama, for two years straight. He is an inch taller than Scott and a helluva lot dumber it would appear.

This is fricking retarded.
Holy shite, the things you read on this website
It's doubly retarded when you think about how much a lot of this fanbases despises our recent QBs.

For every Manziel you could list 100 QBs who were similar that got devoured by SEC defenses. Stop acting like it's normal. Optimism is fine because we don't know how he'll end up but be realistic.
Hell, he hasn't even committed to LSU. We don't even know if he will...

great point! Herb Tyler was a great tiger. LSU needs go beyond the measureables -not ignore them - but not to look at height alone. Take Drew Brees for example!

Hahnville's head coach who lost to him in the state championship reiterated your point:
quote:
"Magical … that’s what he was,” Saltaformaggio said. “Lindsey Scott gave Zachary something else a lot of other teams don’t have — a guy who can take over any game and makes plays when it counts.”
