Don't know why that is.

Miles' position of expertise was the O line and yet we came up with at best OK offensive line classes.

Orgeron knows more than most that winning in the trenches is the key. And yet he has not come close to solving the problem either.

I sometimes want to post the exact same thing but we need to give this OL coach a chance. Also, I think we are doing better than normal.

LSU doesn't suck. It just located in an area of the country where there are not many good offensive linemen that are produced.

Hence, it has to recruit offensive linemen from far away and anytime you have to recruit prospects from far away, it is going to be difficult, but at the same time that doesn't mean that LSU sucks at it or that coaches should be fired because of it.

On the other hand, Louisiana is a mecca for wide receivers and running backs. Which is why we usually do so well recruiting wide receivers and running backs.

It's not that we are better at it than everyone else, but instead, because Louisiana produces so many.

I agree, 2 weeks for Davis is enough time to get top OL.

Yes, it’s been bad the last two classes but Cregg is gone and Davis is known for being a great recruiter and developer. I think he’ll land a strong class this cycle and in the future to get us back on track. The 2022 class has a chance to be one of our best ever.

Think about it. If you weighed 300 lbs, would you want to train in Louisiana? There are a lot of other options where conditions would be more favorable to the big boys...and the path to the NFL not too much different.

There are usually 4-5 5* linemen. Bama gets 2, Ohio State gets 1-2, and the others spread to Clemson or random schools. Until we win another natty we'll be stuck getting a couple 4* and 3* linemen.

What are you guys freaking out about? We have a 5* OT from Louisiana, in the running for other great OT’s and have an awesome guard and center candidates in state.

So some kid would rather play for Nike I mean “Oregon”… We will be fine, and last time I checked we have produced a freaking best O line award with our pitiful NFL talent in our greatest football season ever. A couple of those guys still play for us…

Except this is false. Perhaps even a convenient lie. Bama does NOT get 2 5*s a year. No one does. OSU and UGA get 1 each year. OSU with history and a path to the NFL and UGA by proximity.

Also, if we're "stuck" with 4s and 3s, how do we have a 5*?

Your statement falls on its face.

Go cry on the toilet and then read and understand how recruiting works.

2020 class Gumps didn’t sign any elite olinemen

They made up for it last year with 2 5-star OT’s.

Yea and that’s why we hired Brad Davis. Let’s see what he can get out of these kids. I’m more confident in him than any OL coach we’ve had even dating past Grimes.

Cregg was terrible and most of us called it upon the hire at the time.

O line is probably the hardest position to scout coming out of high school because you just don’t always know how these big kids who are used to being the biggest kid on their team will react against big boy competition and coaching.

You don’t need 5 stars. You just have to trust in your scouting and development. Iowa and Wisconsin have been o line driven programs for years without big star recruits on the strength of their system for identifying players they can mold. The nfl is littered with their linemen. You just have to find a good o line coach you trust.

If I were lsu I’d hire Kentucky’s o line coach. They’ve had some good lines and they know what they’re doing up there.

Yeah Damien Lewis, Lloyd Cushenberry and Sahdiq Charles on the joe Moore winning line sucked

Our oline has been fine under O.

Recruiting was weak under Cregg and he was replaced.
