If he signs with LSU he’s heading to Canton, if not; he’s overrated.

free trips and perks to other universities so they can feed his massive ego is my guess. He will sign with LSU

Or maybe with recent news of the DC interviewing for another job has him wanting to see how it plays out? This seems like the most logical explanation.

Maybe let’s not fire the entire remaining staff over 1 recruit being uncertain of things based on recent developments.

He did not decommit. Deciding not to sign during the early period is not the same as decommitting.

People want a new coach then when the shake up causes change everyone complains.

Just chill.

Uh if I'm going to an established great company and they are paying me well I could care less who my boss is going to be. I am going to work for the COMPANY and because of that I trust they will put someone competent as my boss. Either you want to be at LSU or you don't.

NIL $ and negotiating leverage perhaps.

Except in this analogy, he is at LSU for a “promotion” to the NFL. If his “boss” is a bum that will negatively impact his ability to maximize that promotion, he will look elsewhere.

Brother, he was a guaranteed early signee. Moving his commitment date to February whether you agree or not is decommitting and reopening up to be recruited. Why would a player verbally acknowledge his commitment and less than 24 hours after meeting the head coach, and taking photo opps move his commitment to FEBRUARY.

A large detail you are missing in your extreme casualness- if he has a HS NIL deal, he forfeits that if he breaks his commitment to LSU. Any school recruiting him is starting at a disadvantage because they will have to pay him that amount to reimburse if HS deal AND as much of more than LSU is offering.

In other words, LSU is still in the driver’s seat here and this will hinge on whether Baker stays or who the new DC is. As long as one or the other plays out the right way for LSU, he will still sign here.

I agree with you and I think most of us know who the most likely rat is. I just hope it isn't Raymond, even though I have a feeling he wants the DC job and is aware that he more than likely is going to be passed over again....the reason he left LSU the first time.

Wait what? Lol wow that is a reach for sure. We already have a DC and both Raymond/Frank know darn well that a new coach like Lane Kiffin would never make a risky move like this. If it isn’t Baker, it will be a proven DC, more than likely proven SEC DC. Like Dirkin or however you spell it.

Now it could be leverage for a raise, since everyone else is getting one. Even that is dirty but at the same time it’s your job to try to get what you can out of any situation. Now talking to kids behind the backs of LSU, that’s a stretch. I don’t believe Frank or Raymond would stoop to that level, especially after LSU has treated them so good for so long. I’d keep Raymond, he works well with Louisiana DBs. I’d move on from Frank or give him an administrative position like “regional recruiting coordinator” and pay him a decent salary.

Some of these guys are getting old and this is a new college football landscape. We need younger guys on this offensive staff imo. Kiffin could be our national recruiter, along with both OC and DC when we go national for guys and let Frank take care of Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Florida Etc. Pay him what that’s worth and allow him to keep the LSU colors, if he would agree to that. He’s perfect for that position, at least until he finds another spot to coach on the field if that’s what he wants. Pay him 750$ / year with bonuses when he gets studs here that produce. He’s valuable to LSU in that regard. As a RB coach, I don’t see it. I just don’t see it. He’s a manager or administrator imo. But I don’t believe either would blackmail LSU this way, it much more simple, like they both want to know who the coach will be and will enjoy themselves until then. That’s all it is. Risky yes, but again LSU is and always will be bigger than any of these kids. It usually works out for lsu not the kid.
