Oh! idk, ask Coach O that question, seems like he's always holding spots for Transfers recently, Lol.. Look I hope we sigh a full class and it's the kids we all want,

Apparently we are getting rid of a bunch of players who want to be here, but also no one wants to be here.

We’ve broken the space/time continuum.

When has he intentionally held a spot for a transfer?

2017 - Wanted to sign Marvin Wilson, Devonta Smith, Phi Mathis. Ended up taking FEhoko, Giles and Moss as transfers

2018 - Wanted to sign Goodrich/Surtain & Foster. Ended up taking Cole Tracey and Burrow.

2019 - Signed 25

2020 - Wanted to sign Burch & Jackson, ended up taking Shanahan, Cox and Evans

Burrow, Tracy, Cox were all worth it, Great work
Would be nice to have those two spots (Shanahan, Evans) available right about now

Of course they were, but my point was that if things had gone to plan in signing day we wouldn't have had room for Burrow and Tracy. Orgeron hasn't held spots with the intention of signing grad transfers as you stated in your post I responded to.

Fantastic pickups, but that lack of DB depth is killing is right now.

We could've had Goodrich if we wanted him. He tried and we turned him down thinking Surtain was in. Was the beginning of the cb mismanagement and led to us taking Stingley, Ward, Flott and Jones in the same year.

I get people get upset when we drop kids then missing who we dropped for but that's the game. Can't fill spots that aren't there. What that means is that most commits sign on ESD so you can't allow kids to sign and fill those spots if you're holding them for other kids. Also cant wait until the last minute to drop a kid. Therefore space has to be made based sometimes on hunches and dependent on hs kids decisions that tend to blow with the wind this time of year. Bit more of a gamble in an unprecedented year in recruiting like this one. We are gonna have to wait and see how the strategy works.

Funny that just yesterday confidence was still there with Foreman then a called off visit and everything changes suddenly. What changed, when and why weren't there red flags based on communication by the staff prior to public news about the canceled visit? Doesn't exactly inspire confidence in our "inside" sources. It's been known for years(5-5 really set it off) that LSU sources are usually outdated or too optimistic with their info. Either they aren't as "close" as thought or the staff are just as culpable as sources in releasing outdated or overly optimistic info. Same happened under Miles as now so it can't be purely on the staff. It's curious.

Yeah man, Fehoko and Thad Moss, huge misses by the staff.

Only one key starter and a solid depth DL that both played roles in a national championship.

With the new rules going to into effect in the spring where everyone has a 1 time transfer without having to sit out its actually better to leave 1 or 2 spots open

Exactly. You only get 1 or 2 years with most grad transfers and JUCO can be hard to gauge because of the quality of the competition. If we need another O Lineman, a transfer with 3 years left and immediate eligibility could help bolster our numbers without sacrificing a spot for a guy who’s short-term.

Is he? I haven't kept up this year. Didn't think he played much last year, though.

In almost 3 full years he has 25 career tackles, .05 TFL, 6 pass breakups and 2 interceptions.

Decent yes. Thriving? Eh

How much of that production is from this year, though. I didn't think he played much at all the last 2 years, so if most of the above stats are from this year, that's pretty good, IMO

To be fair, that’s just recruiting in a nutshell for any program. It’s a 17 year old kid... They may commit and tell you they 100% are signing and then fall into some good Pussy at the local community college and think they’re in love and decide to stay home... Just how this shite works unfortunately

Post more... I do not care what anyone else says. People that are here or lurking want your input. frick the haters...

Can you really judge a great corner off of stats?

I'm more interested in coverage and not throwing his way..

I'm sure everyone appreciates Fehoko and Moss but the bottom line is that Wilson, Smith and Mathis would've been better. Wilson and Smith by leagues and Mathis has-been good this year. PFF likes him quite a bit. Fehoko was a grinder but more inspirational while Moss excelled during 1 magical year. Great for that team but not really "all american" level.
