NCAA needs to make athletes employees of the school’s athletic dept. that is the only way.
Then depending on the skill of the athlete, schools could offer 1 - 4 year deals with buyout clauses.
Transfer all you want… the new school has to pay the buyout.

So a student can transfer and UW still has to pay them? They are also obligated to the contract terms unless the contract is terminated.

Washington sources say they are prepared to pursue all legal avenues to enforce Demond Williams’ signed contract.
How stupid can a school be to keep a QB from tramsferring who no longer wants to be there and expect he will give his all.

Not just that but future recruits are going to tell them to kick rocks. If we’ve seen anything it’s that these players now want that freedom to transfer whenever they want.

The Big 10 took the scholarship part out of any agreements. Maybe they had to.
Used to be you signed a letter of intent then scholarship papers. The cost of a scholarship is nothing compared to these deals players are getting.
Why leave early from college to the NFL? The colleges are paying more.

Sometimes this portal stuff brings together individuals and not “teams.” This all could work in LSU’s favor in that it could galvanize these transfers and cause them to come together to shut everyone up. All these attacks aren’t on LSU only. Directly or indirectly, they are on these players too. Let’s see if this brings them together and LSU lays with a chip on its shoulder.

If we sign Demond Williams, a bowl game against Wisconsin will 100% be guaranteed
But will Wisconsin care that we stole Washington’s QB?
