I won't discount that. Everybody is different.
It just seems like he is not that type. I've never heard anything that would indicate that him leaving was a major factor. It appears that family/friends play a big role in his life. He has that here.
IMO, it just makes sense that he will sign with us. Nick has put the full-court press on him and it appears that Miles has taken a different approach. I think Miles already knows something we don't. It just makes sense!

Maybe he wants to see what happens in the BCSNCG?

I won't get too specific but Gerald wants to wear the purple and gold, according to someone very close to the situation.

I have always felt LC would end up at LSU and still do but I agree that if he delays it's good for us. I've been told by people that have no allegiences to Bama and LSU that he is Bama bound if he were to decide right now and these guys are people I trust with this stuff.(they work for their team sites on major recruiting networks) They feel much the same way as Shurburrt does. To be honest most knowledgeable and practical analysts and recruiting experts have said since the summer that they felt Bama lead but in the end he'd end up at LSU. The reasoning is the same as most. The pull of LSU on LA kids. Most follow the practice of seeing it before believing it in regards to a LA kid leaving the state over an LSU offer. Most will even follow that logic over the inside info and tidbits they've received throughout the recruiting cycle. Also every analyst with no allegiences to either school or even those with allegiences that tell it like it is instead of sunshine pumping have said they feel it's 50/50 and too close to call. The best LSU insiders in the business feel this way and that includes the ones that don't work for recruiting sites and are just very connected fans.

I'm not poor so does that mean it's not a rumor?

Well Gerald also said in an interview that they probably won't play at the same school. It was on Scout or Rivals...can't remember which one. Obviously, they can change their mind. Just throwing the information that we have out there.

This. My prediction is, if he announces now it will be BAMA but he is growing concerned with Saban to Penn St. rumors and wants that issue to settle before an announcement because it is very close with LSU.

The Saban to Penn State or Texas stuff is a legit concern no matter what others (or even Saban) try to dismiss it.
The Ala. HC job is one of the best, but it is one of the worst in critical repsects that any coach can identify with. The fan expectations are wildly outsized and recruiting base is a catfight every year, no matter how good you are or how much effort one puts in.
Urban Meyer left a better job than Saban has currently to take one of the equally prestigious, but easier to maintain HC positions.
Texas and Penn State are AT Least as tempting to Saban.
Let's see...
More money, less effort, less pressure from delirious fans...
Hmmm... No Nick would never do that, he's too loyal....

I thought the said they WANTED to play together and have never had a chance to?
Posted on 12/30/11 at 1:53 pm to memphisplaya
I don't know why any brothers wouldn't want to play together unless they are fighting for the same position. Which clearly these brothers are not

IMO, the Saban to Tx or PSt talk is laughable. Alabama is the best job he'll get because of the talent base due to location. He won't find that kind of size and speed mix anywhere else and he knows that. Without superior talent Nick would be an average coach. He's too unimaginative.

He specifically said that whichever one Landon went to (LSU or Bama), he would go to the other one. It was a video interview on Scout I'm pretty sure. I can't get on Scout at work, but just look at the Gerald videos on his profile.
