I don’t have any “sauces”, Captain, but I like where LSUS stands with Mathews. And I like coach Orgeron’s track record of landing the highest priority in-state (LA) targets.
Not guaranteeing we end up signing Jacoby, but I do feel like we will be in it until the end with a shot to sign him.

I agree. That was from another writer who is pumping up their fan base after a recent success of commits.

Oh, gotcha.
I think Texas fans are on such a high right now (from their new coach and recent recruiting success) that they honestly believe they’re going to sign pretty much everyone they are in contention for.
That typical Texas arrogance is back in full affect unfortunately. However, There is one good thing about Texas being able to recruit their own state (TX), and that is it restricts the Aggies from being able to clean up in their talent-rich, backyard.
And no matter what happens, I’m still confident LSU will be able to cherry pick a few talented players out of Texas annually. We are going to have our hands full fending off the usual suspects from this 2022 crop of HS prospects bc we (LA) loaded my friend!!!

The info was originally broke by Gerry Hamilton (although he actually said that Florida led, but that texas was in it), and Gerry doesn’t make shite up

Judge mental didn't remember him doing anything against mandeville
Only 158 yards receiving with 3 tuddies. 3 picks on defense too.

If you're going off of Texas 247 posters, that's where the biggest idiots on Texas boards end up because they get shite on everywhere else for their stupid takes. It's a safe space for idiots. The better recruiting posters are on IT or Surly, and to a lesser extent OBs

Mathews has all of the tools to be an elite LB in today's style of defense (i.e. can run sideline-to-sideline and is great in coverage).
Of all LSU's 2022 targets remaining, he should be the top priority.

I'm not trying to knock what Matthews did or what his potential is, I only disagreed with the statement that he was head and shoulders ahead of Harris at this stage. He's clearly a special talent.

He clearly is. Seems to be enjoying the process with that shiny new 5* right now. He's really good friends with Bryce Anderson. Which Texas currently per the crystal ball picks leads for. So maybe they have some current momentum.

I'll ban bet anyone anytime that he will never, not ever, not one time ever, take a snap at LB.
ETA (Safety rolling down to nickel does not count. He is not and will never be an outside linebacker at any level)

Can you post anyone with similar stats?

Thanks for sharing that. Enjoyed watching. Matthews looks like he’s a leader.
