We hinted at it on Monday and as expected Corona (Calif.) Centennial defensive lineman Korey Foreman has decommitted from Clemson, two sources told 247Sports.
There had been a lot of smoke this could happen sooner than later and that ramped up even more over the weekend after he took all signs of Clemson off his social media.
Foreman, who’s the No. 1 rated prospect in the country in the 247Sports Composite, committed to the Tigers back in January while on an unofficial visit to the campus. His commitment looked rock solid, so much in fact that Foreman put a giant Tiger tattoo on his left arm just a few months ago.
So what changed in the last month or so to make Foreman open up his recruitment? From what we have heard from a couple of sources to the recruitment, Foreman wants to take his official visits and Clemson has a strict ‘no-trip’ policy for committed players. The rule essentially is, take all the trips you want prior to committing, but once you commit, then it’s time to shut down your recruitment.
From what we know, Foreman wants to take his visits and was told he had to de-commit in order to do so. If you’re Clemson and head coach Dabo Swinney, you can’t allow one commit to take visits and tell the rest of the class they have to shut it down. Over the weekend, we heard the two sides talked it out and the Tiger staff will still heavily pursue Foreman moving forward.
The Tigers will obviously have plenty of competition moving forward and you can expect every top program in the country to make a huge push for Foreman. Locally, USC is a school to watch and the Trojans have already been recruiting him aggressively over the last few months. Truth be told, they never stopped recruiting him, even after he committed to Clemson but have kicked things up a notch after several new hires along the defensive staff.
Foreman is very close with current USC freshman defensive end Drake Jackson, whose father Dennis also happens to be the DL coach at Centennial. Foreman, Jackson and and incoming Trojan wide receiver Gary Bryant all train together in the off-season and USC was also the childhood favorite for the talented pass rusher.
USC is by no means a slam dunk however. Foreman has no issues leaving home, which is obvious since he already committed to a school on the other side of the country once before. LSU will make a big push and we know Foreman and Tiger commit Raesjon Davis are close and would love to play together in college as well. Davis had already been heavily recruiting Foreman to LSU for months.

This will likely be a PAC-12 LSU battle. Georgia and Bama will recruit hard but they're basically just as far away. LSU is far but not that far, also have to believe Maason Smith and Raesjon Davis would help.
Clemson is 100% still in it. Plus Eli Ricks and Potentially JT Daniels as well

Dabo in a Catch 22, he either got to stop recruiting him or he will be exposed and the schtick won’t hold any water in the future...
Good move KF...

How would Dabo get exposed? I’d love for that to happen but how?

He currently has a rule that you cant take visits once you commit.
If Korey keeps them in his top 4, Dabo will set a precedent that his rule is BS. Other Clemson commits will follow suit.

I know we need him and it’d be a great get but if he ends up at USC that is much better than Clemson because we don’t wanna face him in the CFP.

This would be an awesome thing. Would love to see it happen. ????????????

Not so much about the CFP...but I’m glad he’s going to a non-contender. Weakens Clemson’s future a tad whether we play them or not & pulls us in a closer in recruiting wars

So USC hired that stingray dude away from Miss St?

Thought he was Coach Duggs?

His rule isn’t that you can’t re-commit. Also this policy has served him pretty damn well

Exactly. His rule is you can’t take visits once you are committed to Clemson. To take visits you must decommit. Which is what Forman did.
He could still end up at Clemson, the rule doesn’t ban you, nor will they stop recruiting him.

Who would commit to USC when they know the head coach is going to be fired before end of the season. The USC Alumni won't be satisfied with retaining Helton because he was able to lure a couple recruits their way. They are far more demanding than the USC of South Carolina.
He Gone!!!
He Gone!!!

We'll see if dabo is full of it and allows him back
this. Can't wait to see if Dabo sticks to his word on this one. He says if a committed recruit takes other visits or decommits then he is out of the class. This should be interesting

No he just says you can't take visits if you're committed
