Kevin Spears and recruits like him.

I have to say I'm glad we got his commitment. It's interesting how people get so caught up in star rankings on these kids. Every year you see perineal top 10 recruiting schools (see Texas Longhorns) who can't seem to put it together on the field. Did anybody hear about Jimmy Graham or Tony Gonzalez before they got drafted, nope. The point is finding guys whos athletic ability matches your team needs and Spears has it. Don't believe the trap that only guys with loaded scout and rivals profiles can play ball. I really think Spears could be a diamond in the rough.

Thank you. With our record of finding diamonds in the rough like Claiborne or Tyrann people shouldn't feel out about signing a 3 star. We are amazing at recognizing under the radar talent.

Based on his video, this diamond isn't rough. He as decent speed. I'd be surprised if he's not faster than the Saint's Colston because he was outrunning DBs(HS, I know, but still). He seemed quick and instinctive. As many have pointed out, he takes the ball high and catches well with his hands. I think we got a real winner.

I had heard about jimmy but only because he was pounding one my buddies older sisters
true story
But this kid is a project with potential. We need a big tall WR so I like it. If we get some guys late grey shirt him.

The Tony Gonzalez comparison is a bit invalid. He was huge in college as a TE.

Ok good point. But still I think spears has crazy upside.

She hot? Geaux jimmy!

She was really hot. She was a tiger girl (but for Miami don't know what they call it). Her and jimmy were together until daddy found out

Well Jimmy Graham was a 4* TE coming out of high school...
Star rankings are not the end all of everything but hey don't matter, anyone who thinks differently is fooling themselves. Sure you occasionally have a kid who out performs his ranking or another who doesn't play up to his but considering amount of 4/5* vs 3* or lower they are right a good majority of the time.

I actually think Rivals might have him as a 4 star come tues of next week. Rivals National guy Mike Farrell loves Spears.

Mathieu was a top 250 player in the country and top 5 in the state. Hardly a diamond in the rough. He was fairly highly rated for a guy his size.
I'd say Claiborne, Logan, Lonergan, Blue, Riley and Sheppard are probably the biggest 3 star "hits" during the Miles era. If you look at all of the 2 and 3 star players that Miles has signed, the majority of them were non contributors.
Spears may turn out to be a solid receiver or another Armand Williams. No one on this board knows.

That could be said of any kid, at any school, including 5* guys. I think most people realize that , but feel the need to defend the kid, because idiots are bashing him for no logical reason.

I'm 6'1 and I have to look up to him.

He would probably be a better receiver at La Tech.
