Says they are pursuing noah cain really hard and he will be on campus this weekend.
Also when he was asked about the amite boys he answered, "Im not gonna lie, i dont think them guys are coming." Referring to the camp this weekend. But his response gave me the impression that he doesnt really talk or have a relationship with these guys. Idk maybe im wrong. The hell with Sam Petito!! Shites getting old

The fact he doesn’t talk to those guys speaks volumes.

Could care less about Devonta Lee tbh. We could live without him with the talent we got at WR (plus i like Palmer better). And I believe Lee is more of a safety at the next level anyway. But Sopsher is a must a get!!

To be fair...it sounds like all he was just saying was that the Amite guys would not be in town this weekend. Nothing more or less.

The Sopsher family comes off as very private I wouldn't put too much into them not talking much

I want Lee not because WR is a position of need, but because locking down that area of the state is a priority and should send a message that the fence is back up.

Probably so. But it also sounded like he doesn't have a significant relationship with those guys (or at least to the extent he does with other recruits).

Clearly there is good talent in that party of the state and you would hope those guys would want to attend LSU. But taking off the P&G glasses it's kind of one of those things were I'll believe an Amite guy is coming to LSU when I see it. Bama has a pretty good connection in that part of the state and it's more surprising when one of those guys DOESN'T attend Bama than it is if one does.

FWIW, Bama is offering him as a safety at this point, and we are willing to give him a shot at WR

I think the message would be pretty loud if we get Sopsher.

Lee looks up to Devonta Smith, there aren't going to be future scenarios like that.

His family being private doesn’t mean anything IMO.

Ishmael and Thomas are high school kids, two of the most recruited linemen in the country, and Thomas is our biggest recruiter in the class. Obviously both being from La, you would think these kids would talk about football, life, or whatever. At least have some type of relationship.

Read the tea leaves.

I totally agree that area needs to be locked down. But im jus speaking realistically we will prolly not get Devonta Lee. He always been considered a Bama lean. Sopsher would be the bigger grab

I feel like we get Sophser and Palmer. Lee goes to BAMA. Best friends with Smith. Palmer is about 85% LSU.

Does Palmer talk to Thomas?

Who says he doesn't talk to him tho? You are basing that off 5 seconds of audio? Most of the people Sopsher follow on twitter are LSU players, so there's connection already there.

It was a very long shot to get either Amite kid from the beginning. I hope everyone knew that.

That place has absolutely no allegiance to LSU and Devonta Smith is a damn hero to them after the National Championship.

I want both, but would much rather Sophser if I had to choose. Orgeron knows the optics will be really bad if he loses Sophser to Alabama, for a multitude of reasons. Because of this, we can assume he will bust his fricking arse recruiting him. If we don't get him, it won't be for lack of trying.

this is it in a nutshell. but signing a recruit is not just about hard work. and that applies to saban and every other coach also. some guys are just going elsewhere; how many OOS guys do we sign? I would like to think that Sophser is his own man and will not cave in to the bama allegiance that part of the state seems to have but who knows?

the best thing for LSU to do is to recruit other quality guys also. it has been proven by both Miles and Orgeron that we are attractive OOS. as good as this guy is I think LSU can and will field very strong DL's as long as Orgeron is here. miles and Chavis let brick haley handle DL recruiting too long and his second place finishes decimated our DL. I don't care how good one player is there are others just as good or almost so. with the exception of QB missing on one guy should not seriously affect a program.

If he knows enough to say he doesn't think they are coming to a camp it stands to reason that he has some sort of relationship with them. I highly doubt he would just throw that out there about guys he doesn't speak to.

It would definitely be a bit disappointing if they don't camp though.

I think the big message here that is being overlooked is that we have quickly pivoted to Cain. I was really wanting Emery, but his recruitment has been almost schizophrenic on his end. I like the fact that we aren't letting ourselves fall behind the curve and are pushing for Cain. It doesn't mean we are no longer pursuing Emery, but honestly I doubt anyone really has any confidence in what Emery really wants.

Palmer is the most likely of the 3 to end up a Tiger imo.
