LSU lands #1 player in Texas, #1 WR in the nation, Top 5 player in the nation and some people’s immediate reaction is to be miserable. If he had committed to Texas today there would be people complaining that LSU can’t close out on the biggest fish and will never be able to compete with Bama and Georgia for these players. This is a major get, even if there is a long way to go.

This must be a mistake. I have been assured that a player of his quality wouldn’t come to such a poor school. We can’t recruit elite players. He must be overrated?

I’ll admit I am concerned about Texas driving a dump truck full of money to these guy’s houses.
If they want to buy all the players, and it looks like they do, it will be very difficult to stop them. Whether that’s a path to success remains to be seen. If they are smart and limit it to character guys, it could work better than at TAM.
