There's a lot of smoke on Twitter about him leaving Clemson this week. He's a projected 1st rounder. If true, Orgeron needs to at least make an attempt to get him.

I know he had that neck injury.

Wonder if it has anything to do with it.

He sat out because of the neck surgery.

Hopefully Mike Jones Jr. was his roommate at Clemson.

He sat out last year. Supposedly he's set to be cleared for contact soon.

It has to be Clemson not clearing him medically
I'm not sure that's a risk many teams are going to take on

They were in the same recruiting class.

projected 1st rounder

Definitely some much-needed context to add to this projection. Based on what he's shown on the field thus far, he's a clear cut 1st round talent. However, he is coming off what was, at the time, considered a potentially career-ending injury, and hasn't seen game action since. If he'd entered the 2020 draft, he almost certainly would *not* have been a first round pick.

Bottom line: if he can get back to his prior talent level, he'll be a first rounder--but that is a legitimate "if". He will have to prove it all over again.

I would think UGA would be a landing spot.

They lost Pickens and don't have a true #1 - WR is pretty thin in terms of playmakers

“Can not” and “may not” are different things. LSU may do what Bama does - convince some recruits to come there without a scholarship (maybe paying cash under the table). LSU does not scruple at those methods, and as I wrote, they may do it. However LSU can’t do it. That is to say, we do not recruit well enough to convince highly sought after recruits to come to LSU without a scholarship.

In fact, LSU usually has a hard time convincing highly sought after recruits to take the 25 scholarships we are allotted. Usually we only have 22 or 23 in a class, and we’re going after transfers to fill out the class. Orgeron has improved things, because we used to give away scholarships to practice players who had been very loyal and hard working.

LSU still awards schollies to some walk ons every season

Bama would be a good spot for him, they play injured players all the time, look what it did to Moses' NFL prospects

I thought Pickens was still on team. But if something happened it's probably grades. Seems he had an issue with grades coming out of HS if I remember correctly.
