3 of the 5 starting linemen had awful years. 2 of them are gone.

Jefferson was awful in the big games against serious talent although he was better against Penn State at the end of the season than he was against Florida earlier in the year. At least he made one good read v. the Nittany Lions.

Hopefully JJ continues to mature, stops throwing off his backfoot, etc. and hopefully the younger linemen play to their hype.

There is not a team on the schedule we can't beat. There are also eight teams on the schedule who can beat us.

It will be the most important football season at LSU in quite some time.

How do we lose a recruit to Tennessee who just changed HCs in the last week?

WTF?

Yes, you can. Just ask Alabama fans about 2008. All it takes is a great line and solid running game to mask mediocre QB play. A dominant defense doesn't hurt, either.

I still don't think the kid is gone. LSU coaches are supposed to be at his house tonight. Johnny on the spot to allay any concerns and put out fires. I just can't see a kid with aspirations of going pro going to UVA or UT at this point. He has to be smarter than that.

From Vol board:

"I think right now it really looks like Tennessee. He's supposed to meet with Coach Derek Dooley tonight as well and I think Justin wants to get things over with. He's been to Tennessee, he likes the coaches and the situation. I think he feels like he's a fit there."

"There's a chance Virginia could get a visit this weekend if he doesn't decide on Tennessee right away, they are in the mix," he said. "Justin will obviously have options if he wants them, but I just think he wasn't sold on LSU after D.J. left and I don't think he wants to drag this out. If all goes well over the next few days with Tennessee, I think that's where he lands."

his 16 step drops

thought I spotted him doing the fake QB draw outta the run play action thing that Tebow does a couple times in the Cap One. seemed to keep him from dropping too far when in the shotgun.

I think this is a divine intervention to clear the way for Trovon and other in-state receivers to stay at home for LSU.

Let me translate the Vol board scenario for you.

D.J.'s not paying for my incidentals anymore.

BTW, I've always thought it was strange last year when everyone's hopes were up for Debose, and then there was such a shock for some when he commited to Florida. So much so, that DJ flew out to meet him, and there were indications that it wasn't over yet for him.

Next thing you know, DJ's rumored to not be in good graces, Hicks is slowed by injuries, and Debose has nagging hamstring issues that require surgery, which keep him from seeing the field.

Hmmmmmmm?

seems like another case of a kid who's lied for weeks and weeks, and now all of the sudden admits what has been speculated for months.

kid is a bit of a pussy if you ask me
