We so desperately need to land 1 of these elite OOS tackles. Would be a great start to Davis' tenure here

Same high school as Marcus Dumerville and Marlon Martinez. Hopefully that helps sway him along with his dad’s connection with O

We have a great shot... Julian played with Marlon Martinez and Marcus Dumervil from St. Thomas Aquinas.

Julian's dad was recruited by Orgeron at Miami, dad went to Florida St. Dad thinks highly of Oregon.

Julian dad is also tight w/ Jack Marucci, who was an assistant athletic trainer at Florida State when Enzo was a Seminole.

Here's the quote
quote:

Armella is going to make his own decision, but in recent days his father, Enzo, visited LSU to talk with coach Ed Orgeron and new offensive line coach Brad Davis, and the chatter is that it went really well. Enzo Armella has known Orgeron for more than 30 years and the message from Davis on how they would develop the five-star offensive tackle was perfect. Alabama, Miami and Florida State are majorly in the running, but LSU looks like it has the edge right now.

Two five star OT's in the same class. When is the last time that has happened at lsu?

Also some nice scoop on Jalen Hale, one of the top WRs in the 2023 class. Hale, Sampson Jr, and Omarion Miller would be a great trio.

Oklahoma had been the front-runner for the 2023 high four-star receiver, with Texas and Texas A&M also high on the list, but the rumor is LSU is now No. 1 after Hale visited there recently. From the energy of the coaches, the atmosphere and the wide receiver tradition, the Tigers definitely left a big impression. The Longview, Texas, standout is expected back for a game in the fall.

He and Campbell would be such a ba combo at tackle spot.

Curious why 247 is so much different then rivals on this guy's rating. Watching film and hes a beast.

Hopefully this is one where the edge we have sticks, and we got 2 5 star tackles competing day 1 to be the bookends. Awesome update

Crazy difference in ranking for him between rivals and 247.

Rivals #1 OT #4 Overall
247 #22 OT #238 Overall

I guess camp updates are still happening, but that is a big discrepancy.

Julian Armella, #1 OT

Its strange that Rivals has him as the #1 OT in this cycle and 247 has him as the #22 rated OT (#14 composite).

Yeah it's a big discrepancy . But he's been on the LSU board for a very long time. Really glad to see Brad Davis & O connecting with his dad. Have to like our chances moving forward.

I will not be upset if we have to rob from other scholarship positions to get:

Campbell
Bordelon

EJones
Fitz West
Plus 2 more tackles out of these three in Armella/Banks/Dewberry

This would look good.

Marcus Dumerville 6-5 305 so
——Will Campbell 6-6 290 fr
——Armella/Banks
G
Anthony Bradford 6-5 345 jr

Maybe three. We still have a good shot with Kelvin Banks as well. As supposedly Walker Howard and Will Campbell are staying in his ear.
