After all the comments during the game I think his desire to go to Bama was overstated. Good job Adam Henry but Diarse's own words were more about wanting to stay home. Makes me think he wound up here regardless.

Whenever I watched him play he was obviously the best player on the field. Does he have the speed to play WR or DB, I don't know. But he looked like he could add some mass and play LB given his nose for the ball.

So, how long before Bama flips him...

Take this for what it's worth. Yes, it is heresay, but it is interesting, none-the-less. A fellow coworker of mine's first cousin is the head football coach at Neville High School. This Co-Worker and his cousin talk on a regular basis. Apparently, Diarse is a very bright young man and, above all, he wanted to go somewhere that had a high graduation rate, recognized for their quality education, etc. He liked LSU in that regard, but was not sold on the way Miles handled the QB situation, coaching decisions at times, etc. My Co-Worker specifically mentioned that it was said that Diarse would never play for Saban. He did not like his egotistical, holier-than-though attitude. He was interested in a few west coast schools, Oregon was mentioned specifically, if they offered. According to my Co-Worker, Diarse would visit LSU and if he was convinced that he would get a good education and be well coached and utilized at LSU then he would commit. Apparently, the addition of Henry and what he saw this weekend on campus impressed him enough to give his verbal.

I think White will be a CB so that just leaves Baker and Diarse so far. I don't think there is any way Williams will be eligible in this class. There has yet to be any confirmation that he was taking classes and working toward eligibility for the last year.

I thought so as well, but Henry is recruiting him. Is Henry just in charge of North LA now?

Early Doucet didn't do much until his last year. It took him a long time to learn the position.

Landry was around 4.7 in the forty too. Diarse obviously has "game" speed and looks like the best player on the field in his highlight film regardless of his straight line forty speed.

I think Landry and Diarse both will make fine WR at LSU, probably in the Doucet/Buster Davis molds.

What!? He was on the All SEC-Freshman team.
In 2004 he had 18 for 257 and 2 TDs. In 2005 he started 7 games and had 26 for 389 and 5 TDs. In 2006 he started 5 games and had 59 catches for 772 yards and 8 TDs with 8 carries for 2 TDs. In 2007 he started every game but one and had 57 receptions for 525 yards and 5 TDs.

And that's playing behind two first round draft picks in Dwayne Bowe and Buster Davis.

He is also a qb, a safety, and a cornerback.

He hasn't played a ton of wr since his freshman year

This past year he played some again but mostly db and quarterback

I know bama was recruiting him as a db so maybe we are recruiting him as wr and thats why he switched.. But idk

We were recruiting him as a S but when Henry evaluated him he said he should be the offensive priority. Therefore WR is his likely starting point. Best move for us and John. Some kids are better with the ball and he's one of them. He's a natural wr so the transition will not be that difficult. He plays QB because he's the best player on the field. He was a star wr as a freshman. No reason he can't slide right back down.

Also agree White is a CB all the way. You don't put kids like him on offense. Not at LSU. Not in the SEC. If a kid can play DB in th SEC at a high level then that's where you put him. Wrs are much easier to find than good quality DBs.
