Didn't Valentine decommit from Miami because the HC was supposed to be a slam dunk for the Penn St. job? Since he did not take it, the question is why hasn't Valentine simply re-committed by now? Must be something else at play, hopefully it's his liking LSU more now?

This. From what I've read the major advantage LSU has is their success at developing players and having good to great defenses. While Miami has been under-performing on the defensive side for years.
