Sadly I have to agree with Max. I had a headset that game (obviously Max did too). Les called every play. Also Les called every defense too. Also Les picked the wrong cleats, that fricker.

Micky Andrews,Chuck Amato, and Rick Trickett were all ahead of Jimbo when he was hired as the OC. Didn't get the HCIW title until after his first season as OC. And that's all it was a title. Jimbo did have an advantage of seeing what was wrong with the program, but wasn't able to implement anything until he was the HC. No need to lie.

Yes, I was born and raised in La. Bleed purple and gold. Just saying....we missed out when we let Jimbo get away. Sit back and watch what he will do. He got this class, in spite of Bama and Auburn being on top of him.

Or LSU losing to the mighty Zooker in 2003, scoring 0 offensive points.
The list is long..

No Max, it was definitely all Jimbo. And the last few years of incompetent offensive playcalling and lack of discipline is squarely on Crowton's head. Now that he's gone, though everything is perfect...Miles hired the best guy for the job, they're good buddies...hell, they even finish each others sentences. Everything's gonna be fantastic.
2 years from now, this board will be calling for Krags head and hoping Les makes another great OC hire.
LSU should supplement the salary of the OC position...it will work as a cost of living adjustment, but we'll call it the "Scapegoat Incentive." It's money paid to the LSU OC to entice him to be the OC despite having to take the blame for the woes of the team.

Miles didn't leave, that was the reason for the bet.

I said from the start, Jimbo would do well @ Fla. St.

That was never part of it. Nice crawfishing though.
Not really, poor crawfishing.

What are you talking about? I'm trying to figure out if you're calling for Jimbo to replace Miles, or if you just don't understand the concept of self-improvement. Jimbo was the OC at LSU. He made less money, had less control of the program, and less prestige. He was given the opportunity to take over one of the better jobs in college football, to make more money, and to have more control. To say that Jimbo taking the head coaching (in waiting) job at FSU is a career builder, is the understatement of the year. Hell, a lot of head coaches at big time programs would like to have Jimbo's current job. Nobody asked Jimbo to leave and nobody could have ponied up an amount, short of retarded, that could have kept him here. Quite simply, he was offered a better job and did what any mildly ambitious person would do by accepting it.

Jimbo proved he can recruit. The jury is still out on whether he can take it to the next level. It is the ACC. I still see 4 losses annually.

Jimbo had other offers, but passed on them. It had to be the right fit. Fla. St. was. Best of luck to him.

you're really hating on Jimbo for Auburn 2006?
I'm hating on him, because almost every week I had to pray that we would sniff 30 pts in the games.

Exactly. It's not like he's the only coach ever to leave a school. He's doing a good job with the HC gig he wanted and got offered.
