Sounds like coach wants a little time in the spotlight.

Unfortunately, he is a little too late

Numerous sources indicate Jones decided to decommit from Nebraska and go with LSU on Thursday night. However, Jesuit coach Wayde Keiser tells sportsNOLA that Jones will now take time with his family to further contemplate his decision.

wayde keisler doesn't need to be involved in this. It is very clear that Debo wants to be at LSU. Seems like a case maybe where a coach is talking about "honoring your commitment" etc. Kid needs to make the best choice for himself.

So Jones commits, and does an interview confirming the commitment, but his friggin high school coach knows more than Jones himself

I would guess this may have something to do with the coach maintaining a relationship with Pellini and his staff. Just wants to make sure the process is handled appropriately and respectfully.

Seems quite clear that is part of it along with Jones' family wanting him to handle this the best way. Debo told one Nebraska guy it wasn't true after saying he had switched. It was time to pump the breaks, but he'll be a Tiger.
