If Hill stays, Fournette would then makeup half of the best one two punch in college football.... That's it

Don't see it happening.
Magee anyways.

Yea well its going to. Magee will be used in the same role that he was used this year.

If Hill comes back, LSU runs a triple option next year with Hill at FB and LF and Magee at Wingback.

Fournette did say he wanted to work for it.

The hardest thing for a freshman (or inexperienced) back is the protection schemes and blitz pickups, especially superstars... they don't do it much.
So on one hand there's some things for LF to learn.
On the other hand, with either Jennings, Rettig, or Harris we have a mobile QB so there will be less of that to do.
I expect to see LF come in like Hill did. Spots here and there, and then basically full time the game before SEC play.
And LSU will always go with the "hot back". I don't think many understand most of that is determined the week before in practice. Go hard in practice, and get more carries. LF will be hungry... he'll go hard.
(yes I said Rettig; kid spent his HS career running for his life. He's got decent wheels and can throw on the run)

I wouldn't be shocked if it takes a game or two before this happens. Mainly because it's so important for the RB to know his role in blitz pickup and for the coaches to have confidence in him to do this properly.

Which is to take snaps that jeremynhill didn't get?

If LSU doesn't develop a good passing game, won't matter if you had Adrian Peterson in the backfield, they aren't going to be that great when the other team has 8-9 in the box.

if Hill leaves I still think Magee or Hilliard would be listed as the starter, but that's not to say LF won't get his fair share of carries. LF may not be listed as the starter, but he will absolutely get his touches as a true freshman. As previously mentioned, he will still need to pick up the play book as far as his assignments when it comes to blocking/blitz pick up.

Don't be surprised when Hill stays. Hill, Fournette, Magee will destroy people

Yea, but LF isnt on the team right now.
If Hill goes, LF takes over the role that Hill played this year and Magees role stays the same. Meaning LF will get 70% of the carries, Magee gets the rest.
And I agree that pass blocking will be huge for RBs. But Hill didnt play on that many passing plays. Thats 1 of the things that Magee does, and will continue to do next year. Magee is the 1 RB on the roster that has a role or niche that is completely diff than the rest. Which is why he stays with that role next year.
And im not saying as soon as LF steps onto campus hes the #1 guy. Hes gotta learn the offense and all that first. But by the 4th game of the year, LF will be getting the lion share of the carries.

A beacon of light in a sea of darkness. LF is a great, special talent but he will be a freshman and has some things to learn. Ease him into the rotation slowly which gives him a learning curve and keeps him fresh for the late season big conference games.

We could go from having 2 1000 yard receivers to 2 1000 yard running backs
Would be pretty cool imo
