I don't know what to make of this.

I know Kelly needs a few years to get his own kids, so the QBs all having different skill sets isn't too weird. I feel like Brennan came back to start though.

Other hand you're one trip over a fishing pole back to where you were last year.

The best talent will win out I suppose- the way it should be.

Before getting hurt in 2020, Brennan was averaging 26/43 for 371 yds and 3.6666667 TDs. On pace for 4000+ yds and 40+ TDs

Didn't he only play three games against MSU, Vanderbilt, and Missouri?

He wasn't solely responsible for the team being 1-2 in those games but we shouldn't assume those projected numbers would have been accurate against the meat of the schedule.

Anyway, the competition will decide the starter. Not the partial numbers from 2020.

I don’t know man. The SEC is a grown man league. God forbid Brennan and Nussmeier get hurt we have a true freshman QB and back to finding a WR to play backup QB. That didn’t end well against K State. Just saying having an experienced QB isn’t the worst idea in the world. I lived in Oklahoma City many moons ago for about a year and I saw all of their scholarship QB’s get hurt before the season started. It can happen.

Hopefully he can be serviceable because he regressed in a big way at ASU.

No, ASU regressed. Kid had no choice in the matter. Burrow couldn't survive there.

When an argument for a player starts with this, there's really no argument. Particularly when it's become a common theme.
And to those bashing this move in favor of Brennan and/or Nuss, use your heads. Brennan is an immobile qb with injury issues and Nuss is a quitter(apparently that extra year of bench riding was just too much to pass up). Are those the guys you want to trust to lead the program where we expect to be? Not me. Taking Daniels is a positive move in about every realm possible. Even moreso considering the options we are faced with.

Barring injuries to Brennen and Nussmeier he will never see the field.

People on here do not know what they are talking about... Daniels was not promised the starting spot just the chance to compete for the starting spot. Brennan does as well. Daniels has two years remaining. He could actually be beat out by Brennan and have another year left to start after Brennan leaves. Walker is redshirting. Nuss? I have a feeling Nuss is going to transfer. Especially if Brennan ends up being the starter. That means Daniels will be here another year and then Howard is coming in behind. And honestly with the shite he pulled in the bowl game I am pretty sure it pissed alot of people off in LSU.

Do you know what you’re talking about or just saying shite? Did you watch the guy as a freshman and as a sophomore whenever asu wasn’t horrible? he was a big time recruit out of high school and had the best season the pac 12 has seen for a freshman qb in recent memory.

You just saw that he had a down year last year and assumed he sucks. It’s fine if that’s the case but don’t act like you know what you’re talking about

IDK. It’s bad for sure, but that cat has plenty of stupid to draw off of. Him and Magician are both no read auto downvotes for me. I didn’t read this post, but I can almost guarantee u that he’s posted dumber takes.

Like the take, we needed another QB in the room, and best case he’s brought in for his own packages this year. That leaves Daniels for his final year to bridge the gap to Walker nicely.

Will arrive in the next few weeks for Spring practice

And how is this going to work?

I was curious how he can participate in Spring Practice if he is not in school… have the rules changed?

I came to this thread to ask the same question.. I see no answers, just downvotes.. What am I missing here?

I recall reading multiple posts on here about transfers needing to enroll in school before the spring semester in order to participate in spring ball. Is that incorrect or is there something unique regarding Daniels situation?

Don't quote me, but if he's coming as a graduate transfer, those are different rules. Plus, they may be able to get him into some classes the 2nd half of the Spring semester that would make him eligible for practice.

I definitely did not see this coming, and part of me hates it for Brennan because he stayed...but a new coach usually will want his own guy (especially if the returner did not firmly establish himself). I don't think the staff had a choice but to bring in Daniels. I'm in.
