All I'm gona say is this juco kid better be good. We didn't hit on Moore or Traore. I'd rather Lee than the juco kid.

Though I’m excited for a potential huge replacement, I do hate cutting instate kids who’ve been on for a while. Sends a bad message I think of “even if you’re pretty good and commit early, we still might cut ya despite being from Louisiana!”

Agree with your analysis above: Because i love LSU sure hope there are no long term consequences from this coaches decision. There are several high profile Louisiana prospects in the next recruiting cycle that may not understand the processing of a prized Louisiana recruit at a position of need. I assume DL depth was factored into this decision. In any event, the genie is out of the bottle to never return. Time to move on and wish to best to all involved. BTW, this situation is in no way similar to the one that occurred in Amite City last recruiting cycle.

Recruiting is very fluid. Things change on a dime. I think you're right on the numbers but I'd switch Hill, OG, for Crawford. There seems to be serious questions on Crawford qualifying.

The staff is not stopping. We are still recruiting other highly regarded players and we won't know the final list until signing day. I predict there will be some shocked and disappointed people on this board when we're done with regard to who doesn't make the cut.

I don't like that we're telling kids to look elsewhere. We could have had Etienne but told him we had no room. And then we ended up not getting the guys we wanted

I think it's going to backfire on us

Yet D-Lew hasn’t missed a play in two years and saved their arse when Ingram got suspended.

I would say how this staff is treating recruits this cycle is a product of the transfer portal and the new pay for play rules to come. The more college football becomes a business the more college athletes will be treated like assets. I get it college football has always been a business but once it becomes legal to pay recruits those offended by processing in state recruits won't care as long as their pockets are full when their time comes. It sucks but you had to see it coming.

Not how it works. Kid had to pass up on other opportunities when he committed to LSU. Those opportunities aren’t available anymore because they have been filled by someone else. My problem with all of this is it starts to affect these kids academic opportunities as well.

Traore has played significant roles too.

Right, I get it. As I said, I have no problem with him looking elsewhere. I just want to know why he felt it necessary to be dishonest the other day when he was asked about it.

What part of “it’s not his choice to decommit” are you not understand? He 110% wants to be committed to LSU but has been told he will likely not be receiving a letter of intent from us.

I love Louisiana and LSU but Lee is not losing academic opportunity looking at Ole Miss versus LSU.

No wonder our society has zero accountability anymore. My grandmother got married at 17, never divorced, and had 7 kids. But today, 17 year olds are treated like little babies, and everyone makes excuses for them.

What the frick does this have to do with anything? Seven kids and nobody stopped to tell her that the vagina is not a clown car?

BTW. Her grandmother was probably married at 13 or 14. You gonna advocate for “them good ole days” too? Sick bastard.

This is the ugly side of becoming elite... we have been left at the alter multiple times on signing day by kids who were in... and people say "respect their business decision". Ok, I get that but that pendulum swings both ways. If u want to be elite unfortunately these things will happen, its Nov... the kids still have time to find another spot. Turning them away a week or the day before signing day is different (like another coach has done...) and I wouldn't approve of that shite but the coaches really don't give a crap what I think. W's cure a lot of hurt feelings, plus kids going to the league from your program is really what kids care about not someone asked to look around a couple months before signing day.

What?

This is nothing more than the product of great recruiting momentum by LSU. Everyone new this year's Louisiana class was going to be relatively "weaker" than last year's group and there was going to be an added focus on out of state kids. Couple that with the tremendous season LSU is having and they've been able to garner significant interest from many big time prospects from all parts of the country. Probably more than they even expected.

I hate it for the local kid. I really do. I hate it even more because its a a position (DL) where LSU's personnel has really dropped off over the last several years. But it is NEVER a bad thing to have too many great players wanted to attend your school. If you can get what you feel is a better out of state prospect, then you do it 100% of the time. Hell, we had people pissing an moaning when LSU "screwed" the in state kid, Lowell Narcisse, to take some grad transfer from Ohio. That seems to have worked out.

It's kinda funny if you think about it from this perspective though: Jalen Lee undoubtedly got processed by coach O and LSU, now watch, it may come down to a case of the program that wants/lands Jalen Lee now will have to process one of their recruits to allow room for Jalen. You see, it works that way with every program. If you have a need on your team and want the best player to fill that void, then you will make room for him no matter what...processing ceetain players is a necessity if you want to get the best of the best in order for your team to be the best it can possibly be. At least from a player evaluation standpoint bc nobody knows who will end up being better at the next level, but there are some players that you just can't pass up on and it seems like that's the case here. It's just part of the recruiting process and nothing personal against Jalen Lee. I hope he has a great college career wherever he goes, except if he plays against our Fightin' Tigahs.

My question would be, do you think the shock and disappointment will be because it's some in-state guys that are asked to look elsewhere? I mean, if they are asked to move along, doesn't that mean that our coaching staff believes there's an upgrade available by taking this action? Hard to be shocked and disappointed if we get better in this way imo.
