It's completely about opportunity. He doesn't want to stay in high school another year, cashing in now. Can't say I blame a 17-18 year old being offered likely seven figures.

A credible poster said it’s being driven heavily by a handler. That’s always a huge red flag.

and moreso the timing of it.
I love the timing of it. In the case that Kelly was not fully aware of Stewart’s priorities, now time and attention can be moved towards a realistic recruit.

Sometimes its good to hire expertise to help walk you through uncharted waters.

Lol, that is what we are calling handlers now? Experts?

I don’t begrudge the kid, but let’s be honest about what this is. He can’t reclassify at St. Aug and can’t transfer and be eligible to play in Louisiana, so he’s going to IMG on someone else’s dime.

If it’s IMG lsu can forget about signing him

All that smoke about reclassifying and finally the day has come.

I was thinking the same thing. Louisiana guys that go to IMG usually do so in part to make going elsewhere easier.

Handlers have been around for a long time. When I lived in Va. Beach we had Justin Hunter fully committed until Lesticles fired DJ McCarthy (WR coach who was the sacrificial lamb for Akiem Hicks fiasco), and Justin went to TN instead. Justin's handler was Uncle Mike. Knew him well. It's often a family member or more often nowadays, someone with legal experience...

Whats the history there, this is what I have:
2015 - Shea Patterson...but he really was only in LA for SO/JR years, not really native to LA
2017 - Dylan Moses
2019 - Noah Cain...born here and was here a while but again went to high school in TX before IMG, not Louisiana, so this is a stretch
I dont know I'm finding anyone else, so 2/3 are questionable at best to call LA kids going to IMG. Dylan was obviously the one everyone remembers.
We've obviously landed a number of IMG kids who just werent from LA.

Changing schools and reclassifying isn't a red flag by itself but the timing of everything SCREAMS red flag.

Grant Delpit also finished at IMG but I believe he had some trouble in Houston which forced the move. He was a Katrina kid from Nola though.

Go frick yourself he’s not going to Miami

Reminds of how Sopsher was handled. Grown people enriching themselves instead of doing right by the kid.
You are right but Sopsher did show signs of being a little soft that very few people wanted to notice during his recruitment. That actually played out in college and losing Sopsher turned out to be a nothing burger.
Jahkeen Stewart is not soft at all. Dude will be a stud at every level.
It sucks that is looks like he wants to leave the state though. Really sucks. I want him at LSU bad. He could be legendary here.

I know it hurts to hear that every kid with a connection to Louisiana doesn’t automatically go to LSU, but when you’re at the top of the talent pool, you should never be limited to local landing spots. That goes for just about every industry.

I remember last year whenever the sky was falling with Dominic McKinley. And if he goes out of state oh well. There’s always a transfer portal. Can’t sweat initial commitments nowadays anyway. This is college football in 2024.

It screams money and handlers.
But with that mentality, why go to Aug?
And why not do this in June?
Aug isn’t going to let a kid graduate in 2.5 or 3 yrs

Headed to IMG,

They give scholarships that are subsidized by the rich kids who pay full boat for things like tennis and golf.
