Of course it matters. We know its not final until they sign, but way more players stick with their original verbal commit than do not.
While nothing is guaranteed, our chances of signing any recruit go way up after a verbal commit.
Likewise, our chances of getting a player to sign go down if he verbally commits to another team.

If this is true and he commits to us (which I think if he commits now it will be to us), I think O should politely suggest *sarcasm* that he shut it down with no more visits.
If he commits to Bama, still call him, but we can place our energy elsewhere.

Reading the Tea leaves... he has the commit party announcement in his instagram stories. It comes after a picture of him running out the Tunnel in Tiger gear. So unless he is trolling us, then he is staying home!

Besides position of need and an instate kid try looking at his rankings, apparently a lot of other people besides LSU coaches think the kid is really really good!

Do you not keep up with this kind of stuff? He’s top 5 DT in the country. Like of all the defensive tackles in the country in high school football, in the whole country, he’s in the top 5. Pretty sure everyone wants him.
