As someone who goes fishing every chance they get I’d take the boot over Texas any day.

Louisiana education is strong in this one. We all love Louisiana and LSU, but comparing it with UT or A&M from a purely academic standpoint is laughable. Again, this coming from a graduate of both a Louisiana public HS and Louisiana public University.

I grew up in Texas. I enjoyed bass fishing more there than I do here. (Except punching canes for Venice bass). But the saltwater fishing isn’t really close… and y’all have stupid creel limits lol

I do a lot of bass fishing but fishing for monster cats and reds is what I live for. No competition between the two for that outside north east Texas for cats.

Texas is a cool state. I actually miss living there and wish I was raising my kids there. I lived in Lake Jackson as a kid, and Jersey village area outside of Houston also. Still have some good friends out there

Born and raised not to far from Jackson and still live close. East Texas has always been more pleasant,I’ve always felt like around here we claim being from east Texas more than Texas. Just a different feel plus most the state looks down on this area so frick em

Lived in Carthage once upon a time and that's definitely the vibe I felt/saw.

ETA: and watching the slow roll of Matthews NOT coming back into the fold is so disappointing. Fingers crossed the pull the table cloth out from under the Aggies celebratory wine glasses.

Lake Jackson was very similar to Louisiana. They even boil the hell out some crawfish these days.

When I see a new post in this thread, for a split second I get interested to see what's the latest with Mathews, then disappointed when I remember it's probably another post about East Texas or fishing.

I'll reel this back in. Jacoby Matthews will have to drive through East Texas after he signs his LOI

This is looking more and more likely.

I was starting to get a little optimism that we'd be able to reel him back in.

Hopefully a lot of these guys (Law, Matthews, Preston, etc) wait until singing day to decide.

Education and a degree is about what you put into it.

A good degree from a University is useless if you had tests to cheat from and memorized everything.

If they sign all of those kids on top of what they signed in previous classes, it’s going to be hard not seeing them in the title hunt for years to come. Aggie money is finally throwing their weight around.
Did the same at FSU, AFTER Winston left, and the best the could muster was 10 win seasons in a 2 horse race conference.

Look at LSU with Miles post 2012 and LSU with Ed. That talent still has to be coached up.

Agreed, not over yet with Jacoby. I spoke with someone who is close with his dad and they are still very pro LSU. Not to say he definitely comes here, but the player is very close with other kids in state who are coming to LSU. Don’t count us out yet.

I put as much weight on CBs as I do political polling. These clowns all change their picks last minute so the forecast is completely irrelevant until the week of signing day.
