No one on here knows if he is the next Davenport/Shelvin or the next Dorsey/McFarland.

No one on here knows if he is going to Bama or LSU.

He is a teenager, he might change his mind five times today.

I still hope he comes to LSU. It wont change my Saturday morning standing tee time if he doesn't.

you are correct. We can only make best guesses based on:
a) His words
b) His actions
c) our staff's actions in regards to him
d) any combination of above

His actions by passing up the UGA v. LSU game (a premiere matchup) and going to MIZ v. GUMP says alot.

No point in getting your hopes up for this one. He's a gump just like the rest of Amite.

I dont post on here much, but I have watched him in person last year in the playoffs. Amite came to Lake Arthur and I was a little excited to see him play. I was severely unimpressed. Their entire team was huge, the DL were all massive compared to our OL that averaged around 210 lbs, needless to say, we had around 250 yards rushing on them and ran the ball at will some times. Yes the final score was a blowout, but I wasnt very impressed with him one bit. Maybe they knew it would be a cake walk of a game, I dont know. I just didnt see a lot of 5 star material. Devonte Lee was another story, he put on a show!

How many football games can a recruit attend at a school? Maybe he skipped Ga in order to be able to attend the Univ at Tuscaloosa game?

5 officials total. One per school. Have to be home team (host).

The idea, or perception, is that this is basically 2 visits to Bama.

He skipped a big game in UGA, by going to watch Bama play a last place (0 conf wins) foe. And then only comes to our OV when guess who is in town.

Exactly, Ignore his words. They are just misdirection. His actions are very telling.

I agree it doesn't look good for us, but...

common sense tells me if we win this game, we have a much better chance at landing him.

There is a difference between Official Visits (OV) and unofficial visits (UV).

A prospect can unofficially visit a school as many times at he wants on his own dime. The school can unofficially host a prospect as many times at he wants to visit, as long as the prospect pays for any expenses associated with said unofficial visits. (Thomas and Stingley have been to majority of LSU home games as unofficial visitors this season; Christian Williams, the Bama commit, will be making his second unofficial visit to LSU for this game).

ETA: A school can only provide tickets to the game for the prospect and parent on an unofficial visit.

The school can only host a prospect on an Official Visit once and the school picks up the expenses of said visit (meals, lodging, travel and transportation for the prospect and parent).

Each prospect is allowed up to 5 Official Visits to different schools.

When a prospect is on an official or unofficial visit to a school in a game situation he cannot have direct contact with members of the staff of opposing school. Therefore, all visitors to LSU for the LSU v. Bama game can only have face to face contact with LSU staff.

Sopsher will be on an unofficial visit to LSU for the game, as he was on his visit to Bama for the Missouri game.

The Sopsher family has too many connections to Alabama for them not to go there. All the way from their dad Rodney Sr. to the local pipeline barber Vincent "Big Fella" Sanders and his Beast 1 organization. You can just look at the dude and tell he is lazy as all hell and an attention whore. He is playing the heck outta LSU. He will be the same as all the other LA recruits that mysteriously choose Bama on signing day.

All I know is that for 2 years this guy was supposed to be the crown jewel of a top 3 class for us. He's an elite D-lineman, in state, that should be O's wheelhouse.

You recruit him to the bitter end. If Orgeron is a special recruiter, do the improbable, steal this guy from Bama.

He will magically qualify at Bama. It has happened many times before.
