I am more concerned with the 2 guys LSU would have to let walk at this expense.

This is a myth. LSU will almost certainly not fill its 25 slot quota without the two Sopshers. What we're giving up is likely another juco like Terrance Alexander.

And Al Woods is playing in the NFL and playing very well

What good does that do for his college team? The point is he was a bust in college. Good for him that he finally put it together, but he probably was not worth the scholarship.

Would be funny if his brother turned out to be the better of the 2

That’s why he wants to go a school that can develop him. Mentions Bama a lot and the way they develop Dline men for NFL. Also likes the situation where Bama is losing all three starters on Dline. Story on him at NOLA.com sports

So it looks like he’d have to redshirt on skill alone. And we want to toss schaolsrshops on him and his bro?

Let's spend two scholarships on him though

Woods should have redshirted. He still was good enough to get drafted in the 4th round based on how he played as a senior, and could have been a 2nd round pick with another year of eligibility. Not his fault Miles burned so many redshirts on guys who weren't ready.

LSU fans also thought Godchaux had a "minimal effect" his Junior year and he's the best DT on an NFL team. They thought Donte Jackson wasn't good. Our fans (really, any fans) aren't the best judge of talent.

And I think if the coaches are worth their salt, he would play hard, or ride the pine until he does. His choice and I don't think Allen was anywhere near the talent of Ish...I think 70% of Ish effort, would be equal to 100% of Allen because of their talent differential. But I believe the coaching and playing in the SEC should be motivation enough to make him want to play, as long as he's not a quitter. I'd guess he's not. I don't know him personally but I would think he has too much pride to just lay down and quit. I could be wrong...i guess we'll see. I'm just for going all in on him with his brother...Nike, just take him and forget the questioning. Always risks in this game. I just can't compare him to Allen.

Agreed, we need SDE's and DL in this class, and we might be out of options altogether.

In particular, our fans don't understand defensive football very well - at all. They see a guy get beat once and think he's terrible. Everybody gets beat once in a while, even Greedy Williams and Patrick Peterson.

Or, they think DTs and DEs are supposed to make tackles. They're supposed to occupy blockers and disrupt lanes so that LBs and Safeties can make tackles. Godchaux was a very, very effective player.

He may be rated the No.1 DL in the country, but he's a wild card. I saw him in a NIKE camp earlier this year and he was not impressive. The question with him is going to be, does he have the desire to push himself to become the best player he can be or is he going to rest on his hype and quickly disappear? LSU has to make a run at him, but he's going to have work much harder if he wants to be a dominant player!

Sophser doesn't have to go to San Antonio to get exposed. I watched County Day expose him for 2 hours.

Anthony Johnson was an absolute monster in high school, he just never got much bigger/stronger in college.

I never got the vibe he lacked motivation though.
