We won't know that until we see him on the field but he's probably the best incoming freshman CB LSU had in the past decade. At least he SEEMS that way. You never know until they translate to the next level but he's about as surefire as it gets. I'm happy LSU kept him. I think he'll be a day 1 starter for us if he can grasp the defense fast enough.
I'm not sure it's fair to compare him to Sting though. Of the past decade he's probably the best LSU CB. He was a day 1 ready guy.

Guys
Derek Stingley was in an all-american here like 5 years ago as a freshman and was rated even higher out of high school

Yeah, I edited the last part in on what I meant to say.
I think it's good to be excited for him and I do believe if he can grasp defense he's a day 1 starter. It's unfair comparison directly to Stingley though. You definitely could say he's the second best incoming right behind him. He may end up better who knows. Stingley was often injured and underwhelming past his freshman year.

Remember that Aranda had Stingley practice with the team while still in HS getting ready for bowl game. Said he was the best CB on the field!

He is as good hypothetically because no one has seen him play yet at LSU. With a CHANCE to be even better. You can not teach height and length. That he has. For gods sake dude is 6'4". as a cornerback. That is insane.

Bingo! Rashard Robinson “Mantis” was 6’2 165 as a freshman for LSU and clamped up Mike Evans who was 6’5 230lb. I remember that game. Corner is a position where you can get away with not being the most physical guy if you can cover well.

People think he better. He moves like Stingley but is 4 inches taller.

Every bit what Stingley was and potential to be better.

Crazy how he plays safety and WR in high school. Also 247 and all the recruiting gurus have him as a safety at the next level lol. Did yall even watch the kids tape ?? Dude would make a killing at safety

He has elite length and his movement skills for his size is rare. H
This is what makes him so special. The way he moves at a legit 6'3.
Sucks kade Phillips flipped cause lsu was set for s long time with Pickett, anding, and phillips.
I think anding is going to be a great lsu corner. He has ball skills.

The disrespect in this thread for Derek Stingley is mind blowing.
Stingley is a fricking freak. There were like 13 passes attempted on him his senior year in HS with no completions and 7 interceptions. Then he was a freshman all-american at LSU making massively clutch plays on a championship team, was a top 3 draft pick, and he's clamping down NFL receivers.
Guy is a freak of nature.

The way Rivals was talking about him is its all about his athleticism and his height. They said he wasnt a stick to you like glue type of DB, but his athleticism allows him to make up any ground on bad passes. They said instead of it just being a bad pass and a PBU for most DBs, they would be INTs for Pickett.

Yep and that’s why he will play safety at lsu eventually

Physically I would comp him to Patrick Peterson. Will he be that good? Who knows, but he is a day 1 starter

I think he'll be awesome, but come on! Dude hasn't played a down of CFB, and you guys are comparing him to top 10 NFL guys!
