On the over/under on whether Toolame will even be recruiting in 3 years/i.e. having an existing football team, I'm taking the UNDER!
Dumb. I don't think tulane Is going to be top 25 within the next season or anything but I do think Johnson can build a solid team sort of like southern miss or maybe a houston. There's a lot of athletes in the state and on the coast. Not all can go to lsu or bama. I'm no tulane fan but I hope johnson has success because by all accounts he's a very good coach.

LSU's success has been built on its ability to lock down the New Orleans metro area and right now what I am seeing is that not only have we not locked down New Orleans
New Orleans has been one of the most overrated recruiting "hotbeds" of the last 10 years for LSU. This coming from a NOLA homer.

Posted by MrLSU LSU had strong interest in Jordan Batiste, Darion Monroe, Kedrick Banks, and Lorenzo Doss. Those four were definitely recruited by LSU. Frank Wilson was on Banks hard.
Lorenzo and Kedrick are both friends with my brother and neither had LSU offers. I am impressed at what Curtis Johnson has done at Tulane and believe he will turn Tulane around.

The big fish are still huge, but the numbers aren't really there.
A lot of mid level D1 talent every year though. If you need a 5'10" 175 lb guy, NOLA has them in droves.

i mean we get 1 stud from that area every 3 years or so.
by stud i mean actually performing like one during college.
seems like its been a while since we had a stud on offense from the area.

Craig Davis would probably be the last one. And I'm talking about NOLA proper and Jefferson Parish.
Algiers is still pumping out defensive talent though. Debo Jones, Dwayne Thomas, Freak, etc.

MrLSU, if you want to turn your thread around, just mention Gerald Willis

I forgot about Beckham. Mostly because I forgot about Newman. But Beckham would be the biggest impact guy (skill position) from NOLA since Davis.

I agree and also think the changes to then having games against more regional teams in the revamped CUSA will help generate fan interest there.
