You got that from this

It is kind of sad that we're at this point. LSU is a top ten team, with a stacked class coming in. And yet one of the best players in the state feels the need to go to school 560 miles away, an over 8 hour car ride.

I get that Georgia is a sexy team right now but they are two years removed from 8-5. The fact is, Alabama wouldn't be the program it is today if talented LA kids stayed home. It's bad for us to lose a kid like this to a school like Georgia. But this isn't an LSU problem, its an Emery problem. Some kids just don't want to play for the home team. Perhaps Emery also read all of the negative stuff said about the program this offseason and bought into it. Our performance this year so far should have him reconsidering.

I do know this. The last 5 star we missed on that we had a legit shot at (Cam Akers) probably wishes he was here right now as a featured back in a 3-0 top 10 team then be at the grease fire he is at. I don't expect Georgia to go the way of FSU, but I also don't expect Emery to supplant all of the other 5 stars in their stable.

Hopefully logic and the prospect of playing for the home team wins out in the end. Especially if we keep winning and he believes that we can get back to the championship level we were at a few short seasons ago.

That's an excellent way to look at it. It's exactly how I felt during the Richt years when he couldn't keep the border closed. It looks like O does a much better job than Richt did of keeping the talent in state though.

I won't say Emery isn't better than Cain or Davis, I'm just saying I don't think LSU needs him to win championships. I'd love Emery in purple and gold, but I believe with the oline coming in Davis and Cain (if Cain does come) will be good enough. Having Emery will be a plus, but not an absolute must. IMO

He's a good player but he is just one guy and he's not interested in LSU

If we get cain and Davis we will have plenty enough talent. Like I said earlier, it sets a precedent for LSU football. We need to keep our boys in. We keep getting raised of top recruits.

Running backs don't win championships, good quarterback play and great defences win championships.

It happens quite often though. Teams stockpile at certain positions.

Not really.

We'll have to see what happens. But, I think at some later point, he's going to start seriously considering everything. And, I think he'll recognize that the depth of talent at RB at Georgia is beyond what his reasonable.

I think you are underestimating the kid to think he'll just be ok with coming to a position group in which he's 4th or 5th on the depth chart to start. It just defies common sense for a kid of his caliber.

Do you think Noah Cain...is close talent wise?

Number 6 vs. number 2: I doubt very many fans could ever tell the difference.

I think if he took cash from Georgia, it's pretty much a done deal. But who knows?

Well, we know they probably won’t sue him if he backs out.

Yes he is a South Louisiana young man! We must temper our comments and FACE IT, he shows great loyalty to his UGA commitment. We could ERR on the side of caution and prudence. Que sera, sera!! What will be will be!!!

This made my eyes hurt.

If he comes to his senses, he decommits from Georgia. Under no circumstances is going to Georgia a good business decision for him.

I think the kid has bought into the shared workload so that he's not ground down by the time he hit the NFL. That has been the pitch for several years now at UGA. Some kids want to be the star and tote the rock from day one. Some kids want to be in a stable with other horses and then be the featured back when it's their time.

There is a middle ground.

The kid shouldn’t get 300 carries. But getting 60 isn’t reasonable either.

Georgia’s top RB is on pace for less than 100 carries this year. It’s an embarrassing time share and the numbers will be even worse next year with Emery and White.

It is simply illogical. And, it’s criminal what they are doing to Swift.

The thing is he could be the guy here as a true freshman. I don't see that at Georgia.

Davis is a beast. Emery isn’t on some other level than TD. I hope we get both but Davis and Cain would be fine.

I thought a recent quote directly from him showed he had some interest?

He’s gone and will not end up at LSU. He was paying lip service, and it was a contradictory quote. It’s time to move on.

Emery's dad is just not having any of it, still upset from years ago when he was a recruit and we didn't offer. It's not really going to be John jr's. Decision in the end. His dad won't even let him visit here.
