Is Jacquelin Roy considered to be as good as Ishamel Sopsher?

Roy is better since he’s a Tiger.

Sops stock dropped cause he’s lazy. He has potential though.

Roy is better. Most Bama fans will agree unless they are being homers.

Let me put it this way, remember when Ricky Jackson and Hugh Green were both in college at Pittsburgh. Roy is RJ and Sopsher would be Hugh Green . Sopsher would get most of the hype because other teams would try to run away from Roy. Both very good players but I really think when all is said and done we got the better player. And

I've always thought that Sopsher was overrated. He appeared to take off a lot of plays and he didn't appear to have a high motor. From all the film I've watched, Roy seems to have that extra motivation to be the best and also realizes the hard work it will take to get to that point!

Do you think everyone on this board is 50 and above or something?

And no, I don't remember that.

Roy looks better. Plus leadership. Sopsher looked slow and way overweight

Roy is trending up and at this time Sopsher was trending down. I could see Sopsher having the same path as Shelvin. High potential but will need to put it all together to be great.

Love the old school Pitt comparison, but don’t think it’s quite like that. Those boys were quick. Understand the game was different then, but Hugh was 6’2” and 225 in his heyday. Roy is in the 280 range and extremely quick/ aggressive.
Guillory is a pure NT in the 3-4 scheme that Coach Aranda uses. He would have a bright future at LSU with his strength as well as being an EE at a crucial position.

Roy is in the physical mold of Quinnan Williams. Time will tell if he plays like him.

Non-biased opinion on both.

Ishmael has physical tools you can’t teach and he’s a mountain of a man but he’s incredibly lazy. At 6’4” he carries 330 very well. If he puts his mind to it and bust his arse then he’s a 1st round talent. He always has an excuse though. He couldn’t practice at the all American game because he said the helmets were too tight.

Jaquelin Roy’s weight fluctuations let’s you know exactly how committed he is to devoting himself. Jaquelin hips are 10x better than Ishamels, could be due to the fact that Ish just bulldozes over guys. Jaquelin has a better get off, more violent hands and he’s much more aware of what’s going on.

Basically you have 2 guys that are top 50 level of prospects. Ishmael is ranked that high based strictly off of potential. Roy’s a ball player.

If it were up to me I’d take Roy 10 times out of 10. Especially with Ika.

I think Sop was looked at so highly because he was so over powering. Everybody that lines up across from you at the next level will be as big as you. And in his situation with better foot work. And:

Hype? Don’t kid yourself. At the college level, Hugh Green was a much better and more productive player than Ricky Jackson. He was a 4-time All-American and Heisman Trophy runner-up. Many people think he is one of the top 5 defensive players in college football history. There is a reason he was a top 10 pick and Jackson wasn’t taken until late in the second round.
