Where’s he being predicted to land? Haven’t heard anything.

Because there is no need to pigeonhole Anderson into the backfield primarily. In this age of offense those little wr screens and such are just as essential and effective as runs. Sometimes more. 1 good block and a guy like Anderson can turn a 5 yarder into a 50 yarder. Being outside leaves a ton more space without the wash for the receiver to work with.

So pigeon holing him at wr would be better? He could get way more touches at rb instead of wr 3-4. The drop off in athleticism from him and our 3-5 wr will be negligible while the difference in him and every rb is pretty significant. Way more versatility at the rb position in modern offenses.

This is an extremely dumb take. You do realize we don’t run the midline or veer?
The tailback is always going to get the ball 5+yds deep. Where do you think he gets it out the I formation?
He needs the depth to see the hole. Also in a zone scheme that’s how he hits the cut back

3. They already have a player identified and are waiting on him to enter the portal (Etienne or someone else)

I have no idea but the only one I would hold a spot for is Etienne. He is very versitile and gives you a yr or two.

Yep.
I'm gonna go with "because the absolute elite CFB Programs and Coaching Staffs believe he is - and recruited him as - a WR".

I am like 98% confident they will add a transfer RB. IF the transfer portal were a caldendar year, it is still only March. There is still a lot of movement that will take place.

Don't look past trey holly. You don't get the la all time rushing record on a fluke. Got that low certer of gravity thing going for him like Kevin faulk.

Love trey holly. Lau is in great hands for the future.

Is it really a good idea for a running back to stay 5 years in college?

Noah Cain - not SEC caliber

Josh Williams - solid bell cow

Kaleb Jackson - not an immediate contributor

You also left out Goodwin, who we have to assume might play 5-7 total games next season given his injury history.

We need a back that can be reliable in a 1/2 punch with Williams for 10-15 carries. And then you would likely need both to stay healthy all year, or at least until one of Jackson or Holly can give you reliable carries later in the year.

Williams is a complimentary back, not your main guy.

He needs to be the Darrel Williams and we have no Fournette or Guice to go with him.

While not the sure fire NFL caliber player like Fournette, Willams is more than solid. Keep doubting him.

I don’t think people are getting this. We have no backs on our roster that require the defense to directly scheme against. Florida, bama, auburn, texas AM, South Carolina, Georgia, and ole miss all had those type of RBs. Even the 2019 offense, with the greatest college qb and two of the greatest receivers of all time, was greatly elevated by having a back like CEH.

Will our offense be ok without one? Sure. I’d just like to see us take it up a few levels with a breakaway/pass threat at the rb position.

I compared him to Darrel Williams, an NFL player.

That's not doubting him.

But he's not a franchise-type running back in the SEC. Players have roles and that's not his role.

He has got 50 years to work at a job somewhere.... taking 5 years at LSU is not the worst thing.
