Great pickup, needless to say.
Listed at 6'5, scored 19 PPG and shot 38.7 % from 3 last year.

Great pick up if true...love what Wade is doing so far.

It's hard to imagine he's been on 3-4 visits without committing then decides to shut it down within hours of his visit here

pretty huge skin on the wall for wade already considering who we were up against for him.
Future is bright guys

The only angle I can see is that he's guaranteed to start and be our go to scorer here at LSU and he'd just be "one of the guys" at those "bigger" schools

It's crazy how in the short time that Wade has been at LSU, he has done more for the program than JJ ever did here.

He had a chance with Blakeney and Simmons. That was two top 10 guys coming out on the ESPN top 100 in basketball including the top guy.
I think everything is trending in a positive direction, and do believe we will do well, but let's not jump to conclusions before a single game is played.

Wait, so Alstork is visiting today, but this guy announced he committed to LSU before the visit like 5 hours ago?
Why is that hard to believe.

Which to me would make you think "is Sampson on his way out?" Neither Alstork or Sampson are really PG's. I suppose you could play both guys in a 3 guard lineup, but then you have Edwards who has already signed and looks to be your "shooter".
A grad transfer wouldn't be coming here (or anywhere) to come off the bench and I doubt Sampson would stick around to be a 6th man in his Junior year.

even so, there are a number of programs that could offer that

Edwards is your point guard and you'll have Alstork and Sampson at the wings.
Mays backs up the point and Rachal and Alexander back up your wings.
That's how this would work.
Meanwhile, you have a three-man rotation in the post with Reath, Combs and Kiir, with Epps apparently working himself into a potential fourth rotation spot.
And that's your team. Patterson, Robertson and Sims spend most of their time on the bench unless there are injuries or foul trouble.
That's a team which has a chance to compete. They might be able to get on the bubble.

Yeah. I'm no Jones defender AT ALL, but to say....

...is ridiculous. Wade hasn't even coached a game yet at LSU. All he's done here is recruit. While the early returns look good, Jones did sign 3 MD All-Americans in 4 years at LSU.

JJ just didn't know how to build or develop a roster for shite.
Wade appears to have a plan and is executing it. Will it work? Who knows. But it appears to be more organized and calculated than anything we ever saw under Johnny.
