If the 1.5 million offer on our side is true that’s flat out embarrassing

Michigan was offering over 10 million and that’s what the hell our offer was ? What an absolute failure by our NIL collective.

It’s hard to offer more when you don’t have money.

There's plenty of real info out there to discuss so please don't flood the board with misinformation. 1.5 is per year. 10 is over 4. Use common sense.

That's still $4.5 to Michigan's $8 (if he's that good he isn't staying 4 years). They practically doubled the offer

How much money have you been donating to the program?

Not the point of my post. The way he posted it makes it seem as though it's 1.5 vs 10 which isn't true. They call it reading comprehension and it's taught in elementary school not to adults on a message board. It's intentional misleading information or ignorance and I called him out for it rightfully.

You were the last person to post. I think everyone knew what they meant, event though it was poorly worded. I was trying to keep the conversation going. I'll try again.

Michigan outbid LSU (supposedly) 2 to 1. This board has said that LSU has plenty of money in the NIL era and got outbid 2 to 1 for a generational QB (words of others not me).

Doesn’t need to be a do we or don’t we have money thing though… it could just as easily be a philosophy and market valuing issue.

BK is old school and has made clear he won’t chase portal players that get paid way more than stars on our current roster, so why would a HS recruit be any different? (Stupid IMO, but seems to be his line of thinking)

And how are we determining market value for these kids? We could be totally misjudging where the market is and/or who we’re negotiating against.

Ask Lane Kiffin how it’s working over at Ole Miss. I expect for Mr. Kiffin to be gone after NIL funds run out in Mississippi. It’s hard for first year players to make a right fix through going the NIL route.

It’s not. We offered just over $6 mil for 4 years so he would make $1.5 mil per year. That’s more than a fair offer. Nothing you can or should do when Portnoy just writes a blank check.

Look maybe since Sherron’s Moore is getting paid less than BK they get to use the money on recruits while LSU is flipped the opposite because of highly paid coaches?

I wouldn't want LSU donors to pony up 10 million for one kid. Not matter how good his head is screwed on, a kid leaving home for the first time with that type of money is not a good thing.

He hasn't proven a damn thing in college football, plus I question the level of talent in Michigan high school football . So stop with the Generational QB crap.

I know first hand we were the bottom bid for Andrew Maddox out of all the big SEC schools and we're weren't even close. The kid from hattiesburg high Oatis was basically wanting to go to LSU but the offer they put on the table was way lower than Arkansas. Straight pitiful

If you think he’s getting all 10 million upfront, you’re a dummy

It's unfortunate that Michigan had to offer such a significant amount to attract a player who lives just 30 minutes away.

Do you really believe he's joining for reasons other than the money? There's a stronger argument that he had genuine motivations for coming here to develop and succeed at the next level. Personally, I hope he goes to Michigan, realizes the grass isn't always greener, and then decides to enter the transfer portal. Seems like we do better with Transfer QBs anyway
