I can't speak for Jones, but according to both the Bama and Georgia guys on 24/7, Dean's was one of if not the wildest they have covered ever. He was simultaneously telling 3-4 schools they were still "in it" until 10 minutes or so before he went on air.

That's plausible, and like I said, I'm not trying to shite on Vol. I just find it funny his only thread this week was a few hours ago and it was a major miss. Luckily, it was a miss in our favor for Jones.
Also, most guys tell wait until the last minute to tell a achook they're out, if they tell them at all. Dean keeping the suspense is actually the opposite of what Vol said this morning when he thought we were way out of it for Dean/Jones.
Regardless, the guy is connected and the thread ended up working out for the good guys anyway.

I don't think he did. I read him to say ole miss put all of their chips in and things look tough for LSU right now. you just took a leap and interpreted that as we don't have a chance.

I’m not gonna pretend to be happy about missing on a 5*, but how often do kids like this actually turn into great players at the next level? Seems like the attention whores are always the ones to cause problems in the locker room, threaten to transfer, and have a “lack of work ethic”

To be fair, Nakobe Dean was always the opposite of an attention whore. I think he was just legitimately torn.

According to the yancy guy who covers for ole miss, all of vols info coincides with what they were told. According to him jones and dean were both going to ole miss up until about 2 hrs before their press conference. He says that dean told ole miss he was coming and uga made a push late that got dean to thinking about his decision more. He also says that when raydar found out dean wasn’t goin to om that’s when LSU was back in for him. Take that for what its worth but that is what the yancy guy is saying. Either way glad to have jones and glad that if we didn’t get dean he at least isn’t in the West

A lot of pressure from the Mississippi folks up here about staying in state. Just like everywhere else. But also I’m sure ole miss threw the bank at these kids too. I know everyone does it but ole miss didn’t think nothing about it this time since the kids were in state kids. Wouldn’t look suspicious to ncaa if ole miss gets in state kids but when they pull top players from other states the ncaa takes notice ala Robert nkemdiche, treadwell and tunsil.
