Of course I don’t believe him. I also don’t believe Moscona knows anything about the details of A&M’s NIL deals. These players have all of the leverage and I wouldn’t be surprised if the best players are getting most up front.

Businesses aren’t going to structure upfront deals only to have the players walk via the portal.

Get real.
$450,000 is huge money to the vast majority of families in this state
And $100,000 a year is as well.
To argue otherwise makes you less credible than those you call “stupid” .

A school like A&M likely would because they know the players are getting similar offers from other schools and need to make their offers more player friendly to get them to enroll.

That will probably come out to be about $75,000 a year after taxes, less if there’s agent involvement. That is a lot of money for a college kid with no other expenses. However, I suspect there will be a lot of hands in the till. Also a lot of pressure to look the part, and keep up with the Joneses. Just a guess here, but I would think a lot of these kids money management skills are not all that great. Some sports writer needs to imbed with Texas A&M and track this class. It might make for an interesting read.

Matthews will be in the portal next year and transfer to LSU. I'll put money on it. Get his money upfront from A&M, head to LSU.

450k isn’t life changing money. That family will take everything.

Damn nice house in Tangipahoa Parish. After taxes, and if all terms are fulfilled probably close to $280K clear. If Escalade, jewelry, and tasteless clothes are the primary use the money won't go far.

I’m unaware of big money upfront deals…any business is going to create golden handcuffs that hedge.

We’re not talking about business being conducted in a traditional manner. A&M has zero leverage here.

I’m 54 years old and I have watched LSU football since I was 11. I can’t wrap my mind around this reality that paying players is legal now. Am I in a simulated twilight zone ? I can’t believe this shite. Corruption at its finest. Damn !

apparently 450 was the total value of the deal but that isn't all cash. A vehicle was included in that. I would assume a lease for him to use in College Station.
