I Find Your Lack Of Faith Disturbing

We’re supposedly third in NIL budget and Michigan is sixth. Either we don’t actually have that money, or the people writing the cheques have lost faith in Kelly. Graves and McKernon need to get this 61.5 mil and get it quick.

Or maybe just maybe paying a kid that’s never taken a snap in college that kind of money there has to be a line drawn program wise somewhere. I guarantee Underwood told LSU the offer to match and once LSU a whole sat down they said it wasn’t worth it. Kelly isn’t just making the call on this. If you had millions to give to LSU wouldn’t you want an input as to where your money was going and how it was being spent?? You’re emotional reaction is what I don’t have confidence in.

Graves doesn't care about LSU at all
Dude would rather go play touch-butt with Snoop Dog in LA

You're speaking in hypotheticals at this point. Look at the current climate of College Football. Pony Up or Left In The Dust

Not sure how or who is measuring this, but it seems impossible to me. Until they make these NIL deals public, it seems like the On3 "valuations" or "rankings" are primarily based on hearsay or rumor.

You got it backwards according to Shea Dixon. Underwood approved LSU’s new package this week and took it to Mich to match/exceed. He never called LSU back even after assuring LSU things were good yesterday.

Cause he and his family were playing LSU from day one and they did an damn good job of it.
Good luck Michigan. You better win it all or you will be a laughing stock.

So we are believing Shea again? They're saying that to save face(not necessarily Shea but his sources). Those same sources all cycle have said we'd match any offer. How would it be perceived if they came out and said they refused to match?
Not saying I disagree with the decision. I wouldn't approve paying him 3 mil a year if I were the decisionmaker. I also wouldn't put myself in a position to have my bluff called. They called our bluff and we folded. No amount of spin will convince me otherwise. This kid and his parents didn't work a year long con. Let's be realistic here.

Wonder if the legendary shiteshow he witnessed had anything to do with it. People like to say it doesn’t matter. Third straight L, got blown out at home, trash on the field, rent-a-tiger. Really bad day that was.

Possible. Especially when you could very likely get a QB from the portal who actually has experience for less.
Underwood may turn out to be the next great college QB, but there is also a chance he could be a bust. Thats a lot of money to pay someone who’s only played high school ball.

The “match/exceed” part is where I get hung up. If they did that and Michigan came back with an offer double LSU’s, I’d be pretty surprised unless Michigan just wanted to Godfather it and have it be case closed. It also would have been poor negotiating on the part of the Underwood’s to put a number there for Michigan knowing how desperate they were and not knowing how high they’d go.
I have no inside information here but if I had to guess, it was an agent/lawyer(s) representing the Underwood’s telling both sides come with your best and final. And Michigan blew them away.

This is honestly what I think was happening too. It’s not like it was t plausible that a top rated QB would want to play for a team with 2 heisman winning QBs in the last 4 years but I think he always wanted to go to his home state school. He just wanted to get as much as he possibly could for doing it.
My guess is, if he was a Louisiana kid, he probably would have done the same to some other team just to get LSU to pony up more money.

Doubt it. I don’t think these kids care nearly as much about all that as fans want to believe e they do. It’s really more about the money. If some small program had offered him 20mil he’d probably be playing for them next year. It’s not like the NFL ranks you based solely on where you played college ball.

Hey water cooler fan. Let me give you a task. Your statement is pony up or get left behind. Two things for you to google. Top 10 teams with NIL money. Secondly show me one team that hired hit man that are actually good. FSU spent the third most money this season in the portal. Stop being emotional and listening to your dumb friends and actually research. If you did 15 million a year can buy you an all American dline and oline. But you crying about a qb.
