losing a couple players out of Louisiana, no matter how good they are in High school will not hurt us
Losing a couple players a year will though. This is not a positive pattern because the red team will sell the LA guys to other NLA recruits.

Yes disappointing to have home state kids go to our most hated rival, but we still have more highly rated kids from other states coming to LSU than we have LA kids going elsewhere. As long as that is the case, we will be fine as a program. The future is still very bright with the 2013 class, this class, and the talent that is coming in the future.

You guys gotta man up and screw the butthurt talk. You are giving the red team too much credit and satisfaction with your talk of the "fence being down" and whining about your butthurt.

The only thing that gives me recruiting butthurt is when LSU gets played or trashed in the process. Other than that, it is all part of the recruiting game. Too often on this board, adult (or near adult) logic is being applied to the decisions and actions of 17/18 year old kids. The two (2) rarely collide.

Unfortunately, we got our arse handed to us on the recruiting trail in Monroe this year and need to work hard to shore it back up, but you need to let this thing play out with the other guys still on our board. The staff obviously targeted other prospects (and maybe better ones in their estimation).

I would if I was. Landon Collins broke me of this mess. I will never again let an 18 yr old kid get me stressed out like that. If he don't want to come here - too bad because today we start to work to defeat his chosen team.

Actually, I am more worried about Auburn next year than I am about Bama.

if you're butthurt ... ask yourself this question

Are you doing everything you can as a fan of lsu football?

Are you loud as possible at games? Are you staying the whole time? Do you try to be positive in tough defeats?

Bama is outworking us.... which to me is unacceptable. As a fan, we are limited in what we can do. But when we do all we can -cheer loud, stay the whole time, be great to our players after wins and losses -- it will make a difference. We are the best in the country when we do these things.

raises hand

I hate that Landon Collins was the top in-state player and went to bama.

I hate that Hootie went to bama.

But for the life of me... it hurts more that a West Monroe kid that LSU wanted would go to bama. That's not supposed to happen!

all the majorly-hyped announcements go the other way.

I think this statement is a little revisionist. I know they got Collins in a big announcement, but we got Kwon on a big announcement signing day of that year and K beckwith during the AA game last year. We got Brandon Harris on an announcement covered by ESPN and this year during the all-star games some big names will don the LSU hat.

I am disappointed about Hootie but I think if we can land Adams we will be alright. It hurts the class but it happens sometimes. The guys we get that bama wants also hurts their class. To think that it doesn't work both ways wouldn't be correct.

Yea, I'm kinda disgusted with the front running kids these days. I think it a new generation thing so I keep my mouth shut and hope our turn comes soon.

I'm not. I couldn't care less where the kids come from as long as LSU is still successful with OOS kids.

If Adams ends up at LSU, then losing Jones isn't a big deal to me.

Now, if LSU started losing OOS recruits as well as in-state guys, then I'd have an issue.

If in-state kids don't want to go to LSU, then good riddance. LSU is capable of landing OOS of state kids instead.

LSU needs to reaffirm it's commitment to North Louisiana imo. Put much better recruiters up there otherwise Alabama will take over

ensminger is supposed to be our folksy north la guy, stud has been on staff and recruiting up there since, what, 2007? saban has cristobal on his staff for a year and he goes and gets cam rob (if only stud and les were o-line coaches) and now hootie is a goner. i won't count devall due to the scheme fit thing. THAT is frustrating.

if a young db wants to go play for saban, i completely understand that. robinson is the most frustrating loss though, at least for me.

these recruits picking alabama would be wise in looking at how the great players from past years are playing in the nfl, as opposed to those lsu has produced. richardson, that rb with the saints, etc. where you only have to look at the cardinals to see how the lsu players have produced. why? maybe because saban beats their bodies to a pulp in order to win college championships but with nothing left to spare for the big $ of the nfl. just my opinion.
