Ed Orgeron stated in his very first press conference as permanent head coach that he wants a dual threat QB. Then he offered a top flight QB even after having two committed.
This was absolutely a decision that he made. This isn't an accident.
Whether this works out is a totally different question. But, make no mistake, Orgeron didn't want Brennan as a part of this class.

Not only that, but the pitch to Tua is that he can come to LSU and play early rather than sit behind Hurts. So Brennan is scared of competition but we want Tua who is also scared of competition?
